Just got an email from my usual supplier (bone frog gun club) of my preferred carry round (9mm Federal HST 124gr) saying that Federal is requiring them to restrict sales to LE.
Sounds like bullshit to me, but wanted to ask what other online vendors people use to purchase HST.
I've got about 10 boxes, so I'm good for a while, but if this is going to become common, might try to stock up a little more.

Hst is good stuff but if so will just find a new carry load. Tired of these companys bull shit. There are plenty of other good hollow points on the market.

To answer my own question, found that streichers has it for $21.99 per box, and free shipping (not sure min order amount for free shipping).

LuckyGunner.com has 1000 rounds of 9mm Federal LE HST 124 +P for $650.

This is is a much better deal than Lucky Gunner.
I’ve ordered from Streichers before on one of their deals like this, as few as 5 boxes with no problem. If you were closer I would go in with you on an order.

I like the 124gr +P.
I like the standard 124gr.
Looks like Streicher's is all out of 124gr. with an option to "Reserve now".
I'm seeing things like this at ammo sales site FAQs;
I'VE PURCHASED THESE PRODUCTS FROM YOU PREVIOUSLY (FEDERAL PREMIUM TACTICAL HST JHP AND SPEER GOLD DOT HP) WHY ARE THEY NOW AVAILABLE TO LE/QUALIFIED CUSTOMERS ONLY?
50 round boxes of these products have always been intended for Law Enforcement; 20 round boxes of these products are marketed for retail purchase. The manufacturers are getting stricter on these guidelines as it pertains to online sales, thus we have been asked to abide by indicating this on these product pages and asking customers to register with us in order to purchase these products. Currently we are required to restrict the purchase of 124gr but most likely eventually all 50 round LE boxes will be restricted.
ETA: I found these terms at Bone Frog, which was the site mentioned by the OP. I was unable to find the same terms from other vendors, yet their prices are much higher than Bone Frog's.

yeah, I ordered 10 more boxes of 124gr from streitchers, came out to 44 cents per round. I should be set for a while.
I'd bet streitchers gets them back in stock, and they have the same price for the 124gr or 147gr, in both regular or +p.
I would expect that if this was some enforced directive from Federal that everyone would be doing the same BS as bone frog...

Probably the result of a .gov contract being fulfilled, with the trickle down to .mil and LE 1st, lowly serfs are last in line.
But I do agree, companies that play these games are lame.
Damage Factory had standard 124 & 147 two weekends ago, not sure if they still do, hope to go by Thursday to see.

there's other ammo out there that will do the same job, if called upon for work.

It looks to me more like a restriction on box size to maintain a higher sales price. Its a marketing/pricing gimmick, not a restriction on the round itself.

Its a marketing/pricing gimmick, not a restriction on the round itself.Hornady does that as well with the XTP's, correct? Seems like you have to get over 1000ct before pricing starts getting economical, but haven't been able to find those in greater than 100ct anywhere....
Something weird is going on. l read this and went online to see if I could get some Winchester Ranger T and was required to submit proof that I was LE. I've bought plenty of this ammo prior without needing to be a LEO. I do see that other another distributor selling the same stuff without the LEO requirement. Is there a push to cut us off from LE ammo? The other thing I noted is this ammo is not widely available and priced higher than a cats ass.

^^^ THIS
The LE duty ammo in 50 round boxes (for near .50cents/round depending on caliber) is essentially the same ammo as "personal defense" ammo in 20 round boxes (for >$1/round)

As above, it's that they repackage the same ammo and want y'all to pay more for it than LEO.
Sounds like a decent side gig for LEO if it's strictly enforced... I've bought Ranger T-series from an LEO that sells online before.
