I've purchased surplus ammo before from some countries and had amazing success. There has been a lot of Ethiopian ammo appearing again and a good example of the quality, or lack of quality control, in this ammunition.

"During testing, both the 7.92 and 7.62 cartridges exhibited hang-fires in approximately fifty per cent of cases."

Watch out for Indian ammo too, 7.62x51.

But otherwise sounds safe as a cheap practice round as long as you account for the slight lag.

I hear the Ethiopian ammo is generally lighter than ammo from other countries.

Significantly less full.

Sounds like the DOD needs to buy it up and make sure it gets into the hands of our enemies.

Why do you think they're allowing joe public to purchase it?

Ethiopian ammo is just as explosive as their food. I’m sensing a trend here.
