"George Vera, who weighs nearly 600 pounds, was booked into jail in Houston in August and was in custody for more than 24 hours before he casually informed cops that they had missed finding the 9 mm handgun and two clips that were hidden in his rolls of fat. [KPRC-TV (Houston), 8-6-09]"

wow... 'nuff said.

Be interested to know what kind of coating was on the gun.

Fat man, Houston heat and humidity, human sweat - corrosion city.

LOL, only a gun nerd would ask a question about the firearms coating after a story like that! lol, congrats! (I'm a nerd too, don't worry)

Huh. Me and a buddy were arrested and taken to jail once for riding our Harley's "under the influence". When they locked us up, they allowed me to take my leather jacket in the cell with me, and I had a Buck #110 Folding Hunter zipped up in one of the pockets. [Coffee]

There is a video of a guy killing himself with a 1911 while sitting in the interrogation room at the police station. He just got done shooting at a cop, and they failed to pat him down for some reason and he had a 1911 tucked into his waste band. He is sitting there in the room, asks for a bottle of water, then when the officer leaves again, he takes a drink, then blows his brains out right in the little room. I guess they show it to police officers going through POST training. Make sure you pat people down guys!

I can find the video if anyone is interested, but it is pretty intense with full sound.

What I wasn't expecting in that video, was the sound quality. You can hear the blood draining out of his head and landing on the floor. Very intense indeed.

We watched that video in training when I was in cop school. Afterwards the instructor told the story of during his first year back in the 70's. He arrested a heavy woman and failed to search her entirely. While transporting her, he heard a click next to his head. He threw the car in park, (doing about 35-40 down the road) and rolled out of the car. The woman had slipped her cuffs and retrieved a small 32 out of her rolls. She pointed it at the instructor and pulled the trigger. Round was chambered and simply misfired. Bad primer. He said after that day, he searched the shit out of anyone he put in cuffs. He joked that he kept his underwear from that night as a reminder of that day. Lucky bastard.

I would like to thank the internet for providing me with another clip that I will not ever be able to ever forget. I will not mention the names of the other ones, lest someone posts a link. :(

also I figured there would be blood on the wall at that close of a range

Didn't you hear? Pistol rounds travel through hundreds of sheets of drywall and kill everyone on the block if you shoot someone in your house.
