Anyone else find that these two new Sheriffs beating well respected, qualified incumbents came from the same Mountain View Police Dept? I spoke to an ACSO Deputy on Wednesday about Walcher losing and he said the guys couldn?t believe it. Seems the same sentiment in Adams Co.

I know several guys who have come up through Mt View.

The stories they tell don't give me high hopes for Arapahoe and Adams Counties with those guys as sheriff...

Is this that small agency/jurisdiction that gets caught fabricating traffic infractions to generate revenue?

Among other stuff, yes.

They got fucked strictly because of the R next to their names-no other reason. I live in Arapahoe, know a few deputies, one of my older son’s groomsmen is as well and they’ve all reacted the same as KS’s friend. It’s just more of the liberalization of Colorado bullshit! There’s more about Brown I hope comes out-won’t spread it on an open forum but I’m very concerned having him as my sheriff.

Waiting to hear back from my Centennial council member confirming the city’s contract with the SO and naming Walcher specifically. Don’t know if that’s sop or if the city will/can cancel it and start they’re own pd. Wouldn’t bode well for 70-80 deputies.

Are their any options to remove these guys for cause?

Such progressive. Very Sheriff. Healthy, thriving and safe partnership guaranteed!

http://littletonindependent.net/stories/tyler-brown-candidate-for-arapahoe-county-sheriff,271040

He used the word "progressive" 3 times in answering 5 questions -- two times in the same answer.

He used the phrase "healthy, thriving and safe partnership" twice.

Either he is playing the old rhetoric trick of a simple message delivered repeatedly, or he needs a thesaurus.

Moreover, the sentences in which he used the phrase are grammatically stilted:

I will empower the residents of Arapahoe County to be active participants to build a healthy, thriving and safe partnership with the sheriff's office. -- should be "active participants in building", not "to build", unless he were to put in "...participants in the process to build ...".

I believe in empowering the residents of Arapahoe County to be active participants to build a healthy, thriving and safe partnership with the sheriff's office. -- same.

Just trying to get everyone to turn their neighbors in...

Swell...

I do believe as a society we have a duty to protect every person from violent acts. I agree with the attempts to pass legislation such as the ?Red Flag Law? which would make it possible to take a firearm from someone that is suicidal or homicidal. Deputies would still need a warrant to seize the firearm, giving a due process to the seizure. A person's life is invaluable, we should treat is as such

So,
As I understand the SBR & Sound muffler laws, I don’t need LEO (the county sheriff) sign off, just have to send them a copy of application as notification ?

I have been procrastinating too long on both of those. And figure I’d be better getting while the getting is good.

It's very unfortunate for both counties. I would like to see Centennial cancel their contract with ACSO and build their own PD. They already pay an extraordinary amount for LE services that enabled the SO to build their new building on Broncos Pkwy and move from their old one in downtown Littleton. I would like to see Walcher as that new Chief of Police and have him take his command staff with him along with 80-100 deputies with him. Centennial takes a large chunk of Arapahoe County and if they were to start their own agency, it would leave only a few sections requiring patrol deputies. One is a small area on the west side of Columbine Valley and some small areas along Santa Fe, their District 5 between Centennial, Aurora and Denver off of Iliff, some areas in their District 6 and their District 7 and 8 in the rural areas east of Aurora, by Byers, Strasburgh and the like.

As a long time and "hypothetically" owner of like others here numerous stamps. I say go for as many suppressors as you can afford. Unless there's something that's a Must Have SBR, buy the pistol versions and slap a sig brace on it.

But those decisions and discussion could be a separate thread ;)
