I would like to trade CCI Sm Rfl Primers (got from Cabelas yesterday) for Sm Pistol and/or Sm Pistol Mag. Would preferably like to have 3K Sm Pistol and 2K Sm Pistol Mag. Will only trade for CCI, Rem, Fed, or Win primers.
Shoot me an email: cpt_pace@hotmail.com
I live on the NE side of the Springs.

In most cases, the only difference between a small pistol and a small rifle is the cup is a touch thicker to accept higher pressures. Winchester, Federal, and Wolf small pistol and small rifles all give me the exact same burn rate out of my 40 S&W loads. If what you are loading for can ignite the thicker cup, trading small rifles for small pistols isn't necessary. Some guns can't consistantly pop the harder primers. It's good to test and know. Mag primers are a different story.

Thanks Hoser for hooking me up! I'm now out of desperation mode.
That being said, if anyone needs small rifle primers, I am willing to trade up to 2K for small pistol magnum primers. I have CCI, looking for primers by Remington, Winchester, CCI, or Federal. Looking to help someone out like I got helped out.
Shoot me an email if you're interested: cpt_pace@hotmail.com

MPC - If you are struggeling to get Small Pistol Magnum primers, I have some Magtech's I can part with. Not the brand you said you were looking for, but I thought I would offer anyways in case you were in need - if not no biggie.

Thanks for the offer. I will keep you in mind. As my loading partner gets more desperate, his (our) willingness to go with brands less known to us newbies. Not to change the thread's purpose altogether, but a little education on brand/quality would be appreciated - my buddy Gunner told me that you can never get enough education when it comes to reloading.

My $0.02 (and I am not an experienced reloader compared to a lot of folks on here) is that most primers work just fine irrespective of brand (I have used Wolf, Federal, Remington, Magtech, and CCI)
For pistol loads - I cannot tell any difference between one primer to the next and I have yet to have any one not go bang the first time. (otherwise known as any small difference changing primer brands is by far overshadowed by my shooting skills or lack thereof.
For rifle when shooting target/compitition however I have heard that primers can make a difference... for plinking I tend to grab ammo that is all the same (i.e. same bullet, same type and grains of powder, and same primer) so I have never run into any problem nor have I had to change zero if the only difference is primer mfg.
Hope that helps.
