The pin/barrel link on my 1911 is very loose. It basically fell out today while cleaning it. This is on a Dan Wesson, with probably less than a couple thousand rounds. My other 1911's are not like this and I don't remember this one being like this. Is this an issue or not? I appreciate the help.

Ideally the pin should be a light press fit. If it isn't though it is not a major issue- it is held captive by the frame when the barrel is in place.
Aside from the pin actually dragging enough to impede movement of the barrel as it rotates/lifts through its cycle in an extreme case the barrel can cock to one side or the other causing the hood to drag on the slide. I have only seen that once on a very loose (think rattely USGI pistol) Springfield GI.

Easy fix- if you have a sharp prick punch put the link and pin in place and stake it- take your pin punch and give it a solid rap right next to the pin on the barrel lug. Dont hit the pin, it is hardened steel, hit the barrel lug. This should displace enough material to retain the pin.
Stake both sides.
