No mention of gun control.

They're just gonna do it, not talk about it first. No need to proselytize when they've got the votes to pass it already in the new assembly.
Amp up the mag ban to 10rds and try to get it enforced statewide. "so-called assault weapons" ban. Prohibit transfers of "so-called assault weapons".
It's coming.
I've been packing up my shit preparatory to exfil. My Rubicon moment will be when I formally submit my 5320.20s to move my NFA items out of state.

I saw pics of the swearing in. It was empty. Nobody seemed excited.

Wow! Not much of a ceremony, unless the media snapped those pictures afterwards.
I sure hope Polis is sensible. If he goes after our guns, that will be depressing and just another jab at law-abiding gun owners.[emoji53]

You realize they don't care how you feel, or it's something most citizens will never use, outside range and comps.
It's about the message of BEING TOUGH ON GUNS! Stats, facts, the general public who owns guns opinions, don't matter to the new guv or any other dem.

He's been recently quoted as saying that assault weapons bans are supported by the courts and most gun owners would be in favor of them.

Sooner or later, SCOTUS will have to decide on whether the AR-15 are ?common.? This ruling ought to be clear, however lower courts have ignored this.
?In a historic, but extremely short unanimous opinion, the United States Supreme Court has confirmed that the Second Amendment applies ?to all instruments that constitute bearable arms,?. As this is an enormous class of nearly all weapons, the decision is properly applied to knives and clubs, and nearly all firearms that have been sold in the United States. Nearly all types of firearms are more common than stun guns.
There is strong language in this opinion. If 200,000 stun guns in the U.S. are ?common?, it is hard to believe that 5 million AR-15s and millions of other semi-automatic rifles are ?unusual?. If stun guns are common and protected by the Second Amendment, then so are knives, clubs, and future weaponry.?

Caetano v Massachusetts said "hundreds of thousands", and the NY nunchuck case reduced "in common use" to about 67,000. Somehow the 2nd Circuit Court in Shew v Malloy acknowledged that rifles and magazines were in common use for lawful purposes but upheld the CT and NY bans by refusing to review the laws under strict scrutiny. I doubt any of the Dems have heard of Shew or Caetano.
Everything polis does is with an eye on whether it will help or hinder his ability to get elected President.

Colorado Republican Committee response:
House Minority Leader Patrick Neville reacted to Governor Polis’
State of the State today:
"I have two initial reactions to the Governor’s speech: it’s either 'Ponies
for Everyone' or 'The Devil’s in the Details.' The future Colorado he
describes in his speech is far different than the Colorado of today,
which is the envy of the nation!
"We’ve heard promises of better education, cheaper health care and a
cleaner environment before – we got them with Barack Obama. But it
turns out that the only growth industry was government, and middle
class families got poorer by the years. There’s no indication of how
these powerful and widespread policy changes proposed by the
Governor will be funded; inevitably, the middle class will be hurt year
after year.
"Particularly troubling were his comments to those in the oil and gas
industry: 'We’re here to improve your job by changing it, then
destroying it, then seeing if you can survive the transition.' We have a
safe and well-regulated industry that provides thousands of jobs and
millions of tax dollars for teachers, troopers and transportation. We
don’t need to replace it with the phantom promises of green energy
with its disparate impact on the most vulnerable and its higher prices
for all."

Good points. Leave it to Democrats to muck things up. Oil and gas provides jobs and much needed revenue for the state. Can?t have it both ways: pie in the sky as suggested above and then to bite the hand that feeds you.
Green energy, the solar and wind canard simply does not do what it suggests: lower energy costs to consumers. Case in point: examine Germany and Denmark. The highest electricity costs in the EU.
Solar and wind will never replace fossil fuels as a significant energy source for the USA. The entire industry cannot survive without subsidies. Subsidies paid indirectly by you and me.
No matter what the USA, Canada or Australia or the EU might do to reduce its carbon foot print, Asia and India and other countries developing or trying to develop won?t compile. They have too much at stake and perhaps a restless population unlikely to tolerate such nonsense.

The Republican rebutle doesn't make much sense to me. Did the middle class actually get more poor (mine didn't), and was it directly related to Obama policies? I don't know.
The oil and gas job protection is getting tired. I'm not necessarily arguing for or against any specific type of energy because I don't really know, but you can see a job protection BS argument a mile away, no matter the job.
...won?t compile.
Syntax error perhaps? Have you tried replacing the "?" with a "'"?
I'm sorry, I'm a software guy and the setup was just too good... :)

Did you put a ";" at the end?
....and for a legitimate post...
Democratic overrreach is the best we can hope for at this point to piss off enough people that things change.
I'm not holding my breath, the vast majority of Democratic "leadership" may be sheep, but they've got some good tactical thinkers at the top and are provided cover by the media.
...which is why when a Republican congress holds up a budget bill it's the Republican's fault, but when a Democratic congress holds up a budget bill it's still the Republican's fault.

We only need to flip two senators to block gun control at the legislature. We need to go after these three before it is passed with the ultimatum that they will be recalled; maybe just show up at the hearings with the petitions in hand and organize rather than listen to their BS because they won't listen to us anyway.
Leroy Garcia, District 3 (this was Giron's seat so he knows a recall is possible)
Pete Lee, District 11 (this was Morse's seat so he also knows a recall is possible)
Tammy Story, District 16 (this is Neville's seat that he lost, and a lot of mountain people will trash her on the gun issue)
Jessie Danielson (D20) and Brittany Patterson (D22) are possibilities too.
Faith Winter (D24) is another one too; she flipped the seat from Beth Martinez Humenik

You can't use a logical argument against the emotional feelings of the Left......
Or left leaning courts:
Friedman v Highland Park: “If it has no other effect, Highland Park's ordinance may increase the public's sense of safety. Mass shootings are rare, but they are highly salient, and people tend to overestimate the likelihood of salient events. If a ban on semiautomatic guns and large-capacity magazines reduces the perceived risk from a mass shooting, and makes the public feel safer as a result, that's a substantial benefit.”
Upheld a ban for "feels".

Agreed! I do not know what was involved in the last recalls or the people, but whoever was; I hope they are on this forum and taking all this in. I will do whatever I can to assist in any recall.

"Fixing" is a common euphemism for neutering. This should clarify the left's objectives.
