I can't speak to the conditions anyplace but around my own neighborhood but from what I'm hearing on the news many of us along the Front Range are experiencing a bit of snow.
While we don't have a lot of snow at my home, what we have is drifting up in many areas and word is there is ice underneath of all of it. You couple that with the strong winds and you have a recipe for disaster on the roads.
So, if you're in any of the areas getting hit with this current inconvenience, stay home if you can and be especially careful if you have to go out.
I got a little chilly scraping the ice off of my car
Winter is hell
Bad in NW Colo. Springs, 4" of snow and blowing hard. I am not going anywhere .

We have about 12 inches here. Stay safe everyone. We have a nice warm fire and coffee on.
Stuck on base. Me and my stupid "get here early to get off early" idea went to crap. *Wondering if I can jump the fence...*
Apparently base is allowing egress but I'm here until replacement gets here anyway. *sigh*.
blizzard conditions here for sure. I couldn't go any where if I wanted to. My little Kubota is going to get a work out when the winds die down.
Averaged about 50mph coming down 470 out by DIA this morning and I was passing everybody. Everyone was in the right lane probably going 35 to 40. I took the snow packed left lane and just cruised.
So much for getting the garden started early..[emoji23]

Hardly any snow here but cold wind !!!
Drove the new Aerostar RWD van to the transmission shop. Rear end slips when the tranny goes in and out of gear. Might pop for a limited slip differential.
Might have to actually shovel a little tonight when I get home since it?s going to stay cold and probably snow again on Thursday and Friday.

Barely a dusting here in Littleton/Columbine area. Windy and cold though...
Hardly any snow here but cold wind !!!
Same at my place near 144th Ave and Colorado Blvd... it was terribly windy last night, kept waking up me and the Mrs.
Thankfully the kids slept through it.
There's only an inch or so anywhere that didn't already have snow/ice left over from last week's shoveling, but it is a bit icy underneath.
Had to backroad it to work since 70 was closed. E/W roads had some nice drifts to avoid, but did t have to use the 4WD until I got to the packed roads in Green Valley Ranch. I should go get some sandbags or something.

Drive from Littleton/Lakewood to downtown at 6am was nearly dry. Virtually no snow on the road at all. Easy drive.
About 4 inches out at the house in Aurora, next to nothing at the shop in Golden. Car set a hard check engine code on the way in...Grrrrrrr....

Maybe an half inch in Wellington, with a nice solid sheet of ice under it. Most of the snow was blown away. Backed out of the garage and slid down the driveway in to the middle of the street.

Roads are slick in the Springs, but not bad. Certainly nothing to panic over. Lots of transplants who don't know how to drive out there though.
Was pretty gnarly early. New truck with Michelin Defender LTX tires took it all in stride. About 8:30 most of the well traveled roads were just wet. Good job CDOT.

Luckily I upgraded to HD cable and super fast internet yesterday.....me and the boy are home due to both our districts being closed.
With the wind and tomorrow's forecast, I may not bother to shovel the sidewalk today.

I-70 closed Aurora to Limon. I-25 closed south of Trinidad. Many other roads closed or just plain dangerous.
http://www.cotrip.org
I plowed about 10" Friday morning before leaving to Palisade, and got back to another 5" last night and 3" this morning. Ground cover averages about 20" here now. Good thing but we need more snow to make up for last year.
Only light rain in the Grand Junction area but I-70 was a mess from Vail to Idaho Springs. Westbound lanes over Vail Pass were closed for at least 2 hours, backed up most of the way to Frisco due to several accidents. One semi without chains hit the back of a small car totally scrunching it. Our eastbound lanes stopped dozens of times, or crawled @ ~2mph. We noticed only about one in ten semis were wearing chains. Lots of cars and trucks without adequate tires would stop and not be able to get moving again so it was like a parking lot slalom course. We did fine with AWD and Nokian Haakepalita studded tires but the slowdown over Vail and Eisenhower turned our normally 4.5- 5 hour drive into a long and tiring 8 hour marathon.

There has to be some sort of irony or something in that. A storm door installation cancelled because of a storm.
Snowmageddon?
Seriously?
The media freakout over this snow was Fake News.
Not if you lived between Aurora and Limon apparently.

Nope. I doubt we got an inch at my house. Zero snow on any of the concrete.
Not if you lived between Aurora and Limon apparently.
I would say that we had good blowing snow all night, with 40-50mph gusts. CDOT couldn't keep up with the snow drifts was the issue.

The media freakout over this snow was Fake News.
The thread title was just me playing up to all of the hype a bit. Some places actually got blasted by this storm and the roads were especially nasty in others thanks to the ice under the snow. But yes, the news played it up like they always do with the "the storm to end all storms" sort of reporting. I decided to play along with that when naming the thread. (Besides, I wanted something other than the usual "Snowpacalypse" in the title)

I have a drift between my gate and barn which is 4' deep, 40 ' wide, and 40' long. I spent three hours plowing with my tractor to get to the road and found the road is 3' deep for about 200'.
The problem in most of the Springs was the wind and whiteout conditions.

Should I have quoted BushmasterBoy's post, immediately before mine, to help tie in the link to dying in the cold?

My tree hugger neighbor had to walk to my place yesterday because she got her little Suzuki sx4 stuck in the snow. She walked to my mothers tiny house before, shes lucky she didnt have a gun on her. She made a big deal of how she "must" be in Pueblo tomorrow morning. I took the tractor over and plowed her drive, which is a little over 1/4 mile.
Why cant you guys keep these Denver tree huggers up there?
They cant take care of themselves and expect everyone else to do things for them. No, she was not in a bikini.

I read this post and looked outside to see nothing at my house. About ten minutes later I opened the back door to let out my chickens and a big gust of wind was blowing all the snow from the neighbor's tree down into my face. I stood at the door for a bit to let it pass, but it still hasn't stopped. Guess the wind just made it to my house right as I opened the door.

Damn near a whiteout in Pueblo now. Blowing in from the north.
It was fine going East. West bound was opened before I got there. Plows slow traffic from 80 down to 40, but besides that, smooth sailing.
Sun is out in north west Elbert county
Got about 2? in my part of Centennial. Shoveled about noon when it stopped, sun is out, roads are fine in the metro area
It was here and gone. Shoveled off the driveway and sidewalks and it's drying nicely in the sun. Splash back was terrible on the south side of 470 just after lunch. Major roads are just wet. Neighborhoods will take a while to melt.

It's shitty up here. Just got home from work and was in FWD the whole way, which is rare. Not a lot of snow, just slick as hell. I anticipated a 2 hour delay for school but no such luck for the kiddos.
Just took the dogs for a short walk. Snow blowing sideways. Worst was stinging the eyes. Cars were moving very slowly. Being retired is great, don't have to go anywhere.
I hear it?s okay north of the metro area. Can anyone towards Frederick or Loveland or Fort Collins verify? Supposed to be heading up to Cheyenne soon.

Yeah, the weather folks got this one wrong...again.
"Light" snow for the morning commute they said. Frick, it's heavy shit out there. My 20min drive (Lakewood/littleton area to downtown) took 1.5hrs, and there weren't any accidents on my way.
Wife was pissed there wasn't a school delay. Took her 35mins one way to make a 2 mile trip to school due to traffic simply not moving. The normally packed dropoff line was empty, no one made it on time.

I actually had that happen on my 1st Rabbit when I was 16. Left the mechanic & got on 6th Avenue & bam. F*tard broke the latch which subsequently broke the hinge when it flew open & my hood came off. Smashing my windshield it then bounced down two lanes behind me finally resting near upright on the center divide. I had to cannibalize my seat covers to secure my hood to my roof & drive it back to the mechanic's shop.
They were closed by then so I parked it in front of one of the bays in the middle of the drive lane & left a note saying you near killed me, fix this.
I walked home & called work saying Id be extra late for my shift & ended up with the night off & no car. Yay.

All Littleton public schools delayed by 2 hours tomorrow.
Seems like this snow wasn't nearly as bad as last time, but the streets were worse. I was secretly hoping it snowed once a week until April.

No accumulation of snow during our brief period earlier today. I looked outside @ 8PM and nothing had changed. Just looked outside again and we've got a solid cover of snow on the roads, lawns and vehicles with lots more snow coming down. If this keeps up we'll have a few inches or more by morning.

I actually saw a snowplow, yesterday. That's after a 30 min drive with a light dusting on the grass and ice on the road. I discovered prescott sands / gravels the roads, like CO use to. The first time was in the upper right wiper area of the windshield.
