There is a certain irony to sending politicians canned emails that they don't read, while they respond to us with canned emails that we won't read. Maybe irony isn't the right word, perhaps indication. An indication that the population has outgrown the system. Regardless, I sent one.

We cannot allow a canned email gap!

Many representatives have admitted all they do is tally the responses for or against any proposed legislation, whether it be a phone call, canned email, hand written email, or even fax.

I made the pointless effort. The fact that this has been assigned to the "Kill Committee" does not bode well...
Oh well...the canned replies should make for humorous reading...

I signed it this morning, followed up with my own email and made phone calls, left a message.

Done, called, emailed...

Won't change a thing.

CO is a blue state, has been for a long time, and this last election gave the lib's all the clout they need to make whatever hell they want come about...

And then they ignore it and vote they way they want to anyway.

I talked with someone at the gov's office when the mag ban shenanigans was at its peak and she said the calls/emails against the ban were drastically higher than those in favor. Yet the legislature passed it . . . and Hick claims he had no idea it was so unpopular/divisive and signed it anyway (apparently because "someone in his office said they would" if I remember correctly).

DENVER (AP)?? Majority Democrats on a Colorado House committee have rejected three bills favored by gun-rights activists. One, sponsored by GOP House Minority Leader Patrick Neville, would have allowed concealed carry permit holders to bring guns on school grounds.
Neville argued Thursday the measure could better protect students from threats.
A bill by GOP Reps. Lori Saine and Stephen Humphrey would have repealed ammunition magazine limits.
Lawmakers in 2013 limited magazines to 15 rounds after the 2012 Aurora theater shooting.
A bill by GOP Rep. Shane Sandridge would have increased legal protections for business owners and employees who use deadly force against intruders they fear could harm them.
Colorado law extends similar protections to residents of a home.
The House State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee rejected the bills on party-line votes.

All good comments and points made. I call, email, vote and give money. Write my own emails and call my local House and Senate reps to express my opinion. I do my part as best I can, likely to little avail. Sympathetic ear, perhaps.

Trying to convince a Democrat too why I would need a high capacity magazines is an exercise in futility. Reasons, examples and case history for the why falls on deaf ears. Shall not infringe is not in their vernacular.

Maybe don't convince them why you need one, convince them why it's a bad piece of legislation that won't accomplish their goals

They don't care. Gun control, and being seen supporting gun control, fits their voters ideology. Facts don't matter. With all of the tiny house districts around Denver I doubt that facts will matter for a very long time.

Gun control has little to do with guns, and everything to do with control...

From this article, FOX31 (https://kdvr.com/2014/06/20/hickenlooper-clarifies-remarks-to-sheriffs-id-sign-the-magazine-ban-again/), https://kdvr.com/2014/06/20/hickenlooper-clarifies-remarks-to-sheriffs-id-sign-the-magazine-ban-again/

As far as the staffer's promise, Hickenlooper had told the sheriffs that, "Once you give your word, or someone who works for you gives your word for you, someone who has the responsibility and the ability to do that, generally you try not to go back on that."

Getting fat stacks of cash from Bloomberg and sticking it to people who didn't vote for them are their goals.
