The other male officer told investigators he warned Hendren and Alix not to play with guns and reminded them they were police officers.

Lesson learned. Stupid choices with a bad ending, still sad.

At least they didn't use a pistol, take all the rounds out of the magazine except 1, and cycle the slide. "It's a 1 in 17 shot. The odds are less than 6%."

I’m no expert but I thought in RR you point the gun at your own head?

That is why the charge should be intentional murder. One idiot pointed the firearm at the other, then pulled the trigger.
If you and GK did the same thing, would you or the survivor get the same charge that the officer did ?

Notice how I left myself out of that what if scenario..........

Either incredibly stupid people or something much deeper going on and this is a poor attempt at a cover up.

I'm no expert, but when one person intentionally murders the best witness to their crime in the heat of the moment, they often come up with stupid explanations alleging it to be accidental. Sometimes people corroborate it for "bro-code".

Not saying that's what rolled down, just saying I trust a murders explanation about as much as I trust a fart after eating a whole box of ex-lax.

I feel silly for not thinking of something worse than a terrible game of chance. My hat's off to you.

The two male officers were on-duty, the victim was not, occurred at one of their residences at 1am-there’s definitely more to this.

This stinks to hell and back. Its almost seems like a scene from Pulp Fiction or something:

Male 1: I can't believe we lucked out and caught that scumbag with so much money.

Male 2: Hell yeah! Even after we give Marcellus his cut this is gonna go a long way for me man, what a score! Give me one of those Red Apples...

Female: Ya know, I don't feel right about this. I don't think I can do this shit. Taking drug money is stealing. We need to turn it in.

Male 1: WTF? Are you serious?

Male 2: Yeah, we all agreed to do this a long time ago if we made a big score. We could of split it without you and you would have never known but we called you at 1AM for fucks sake so you could get your share!

Female: I know, but no way. I can't do it. Turn the money in or I'll turn you in.

Male 1: Like hell you will (whips out his gun)

Male 2: Dude! WTF are you doing!

BAM!

Male 2: Fuck dude!

Male 1: Let's get our story straight. First, get that cash out of here now!

Male 2: I ain't taking the rap for this shit dude. You shot her....what the fuck were you thinking!!!

Male 1: We'll say we were playing a game with a loaded gun and I "accidentally" shot her in the chest...yeah, that sounds plausible, right?

Male 2: Uhhhhhhh....ok, I guess.

Who the hell knows. It'll be interesting to see if more info comes out about this story.

If I had a dollar for every time I saw or heard about someone doing something mind-numbingly stupid I'd be... Well, no. I wouldn't be anything. There aren't that many dollars.

So she’s married and off duty and goes to hang with these two at 1am? Uh yeah something much deeper. Love triangle, what gulping guy wrote out, planning an inside job, a lot more than some silly game.

Officer Nathaniel Hendren's Lawyer Calls Cocaine Rumors 'Categorically False'

https://www.riverfronttimes.com/newsblog/2019/01/29/officer-nathaniel-hendrens-lawyer-calls-cocaine-rumors-categorically-false?platform=hootsuite

Newton said his client is "devastated" by Alix's death. "Spreading rumors and creating unsupported theories is dishonorable on the part of the public, the police department, and the media. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Officer Alix’s family during this difficult time," Newton added.

Addressing one of the rumors swirling around the case, Newton told the RFT that any claims of cocaine being found at Hendren's apartment in the Carondelet neighborhood are "categorically false."

"There will be no cocaine found from that apartment," he said in an email.

You've clearly never needed your lawyer to proclaim there is no cocaine in your apartment or you'd see how perfectly normal this is.

Odds on officer seeing something and planning to narc, conversation to "explain" ends in stalemate, and then she's shot? Probably better than them playing the murder 1 version of RR.

Well this jus keeps getting more messy by the day. The shooter and his partner while on duty went to his apartment out of district, were drinking, the victim officer off duty shows and then the supposed gun play begins. Uh huh, fubar.
