I've been on here for years. Sometimes wish some of you were close by and a cup of coffee and a few rounds at the range from time to time would be great. I come on here and look around alot and don't say much. But I know there are a good bunch of peeps here as I can tell. Borned now I suppose and I figure some of you may be country as I am and like to listen to old time music. This is from my home town of Knoxveille TN just outside of Sevierville or Gatlinburg TN. Hit the live button and listen away if you like old time county stuff. Hope all has a great weekend/Sunday. Go Pats! Ha

Nice... started listening and it's bluegrass. I definitely approve.

For Christmas I got one of those Sangean internet radios that does streaming. Going to add this to that as a preset. One of the best things about the interwebs, is I can listen to a radio station in Guam, or NZ, or South Africa, etc. It was so weird listening to one station on some other small south pacific island, only to hear a commercial for Subway Sandwiches.

Cool, glad you approve and figured there was some on here that could relate. I listen to this and just mellows me out and makes me a bit home sick at times. But, I'm here to stay I suppose... hail storms and all! ha Just looked the Sangean up on Amazon and didn't know of these. The web is a cool thing and can be ugly as well I suppose. That radio reminds me of a old retired Sergeant Major back home that uses his HAM RADIO to talk all over the world. He gets a kick out of that. Thanks for the reply and enjoy your night! Just put in a set of LED lights in the old safe and now can gander at it in the dark.

The Sangean radio I picked up is this one: https://www.amazon.com/Sangean-WFR-28-Internet-FM-RBDS-Receiver/dp/B0085H18W4

A lot more portable than the one you saw. I have Ham gear out in the garage. Once I get my antenna up, I'll probably be online with the world again.

Nice, amazing actually and very versital. I would think sound quality is good? Talking about getting your Ham antenna up reminds me... back in the 70's I was a kid and my/our neighbors had a huge antenna up in a huge big oak tree. Old Roger was a Vietnam Vet and loved his Ham setup. He would key down on the mic and we had three channel TV at the time... 6, 10 & 26 and that Ham Radio would cause all kind of issues on our TV... dad hated it!

The reminiscing slant of your post is timely. I don't miss a lot of things since I left CO but was just messaging a buddy and we were talking about our Sat breakfast get-togethers with some of the other guys and how we missed it.

I don't drink a lot but many years ago he came over and we started listening to some pretty old country stuff. Lead to some unusually heavy consumption of alcohol on my part. I woke up to him trying to drag me from where I was wedged between the toilet and the tub. Good memories.

Ha... LOL! I don't drink much either. Spent most of my life alcohol free. Moved to my foever home 19 months ago here in Peyton. I have a bar and thought... it needs some stuff to look like a bar! So, I have been sitting and sipping just a little but not much! Not to the point of being wedged anywhere..... thats funny! Sounds like you and your old friend had a great time. Wishing you the very best out in ID and don't stop making memories!

I went shooting today for the first time in months. I used to go a lot more when Jim lived around the corner and would harass me into it. Now every time it's 14 degrees outside and 28 knot winds, I think 'it would be a great day to go with Jim to the 1000 yard plate course'.

Thanks.
You know I'm always ready to go shooting. There's a 2-3K plus place outside of town. Not so cold as pawnee, probably mean we wouldn't hit as much ;)

Considering the last time I tried shooting at 2K with you, I got a $250 'off-roading' ticket and had to lie in a ditch holding a steel plate over my head and hoping it would take the incoming fire, I'm more inclined to just buy you a plane ticket for up here. We were younger and less bored, though!

I had several close friends that when we got together we daydreamed about hunting, fishing, and range time when we all retired.Unfortunately within a short period of time after we did all retire all 4 of them passed on due to different illnesses.
Back to the radio topic,I listen to more radio then ever now. I know some of you don't like the Alexa concept but I love the fact that I can switch stations just by voice. I listen to a lot of talk radio now and what I call smooth jazz when I'm just chilling.

You guys are a great bunch of peeps for sure. Looks like great times for you and your buds and sorry you have lost a few over the years. I appreciate all the responses here and the times are changing and I feel out of place in todays fast paced society. I ride motorcycle's but hey, its winter. I love guns and the indoor ranges are expensive and not near as much fun as outdoor TN type shooting I did when I was growing up. I love my hot rods and I could go tinker in the Garage but that is a bit cold out as well. I'm ready for spring time. Snowing out right now! All you guys have a great week and thanks for chatting on here a bit. Greatly appreciated!

Ok, just wanted to let you know, I still listen to WDVX just about every day now. I got my love of bluegrass from my Grandma who grew up in NC.
One interesting thing, so there's a musician that's one of my favorites, Tami Neilson. She's from Canada but lives in New Zealand now. So pretty obscure here in the US. The other day a few minutes after turning on the radio and listening to the station, they gave out their request a song email address. So I figured yeah, let me see if they can find some music by her, specifically

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvTuIsDvOUg.
So I emailed in, and got a response back a few minutes later. They had just played another song by her not 15 minutes before hand! Kind of solidified my good opinion of that station!

Nice and man I love bluegrass as well. Calms my nerves when I'm wound up. Just listened to this Tami and never heard of her before and I liked that. The sitting they are in looks just like the area I grew up just over looking the French Broad River in the Seven Island Community. Beautiful place. Glad you are enjoying the tunes and keep em tuned in. I think at one time they were hurting for money and they only work off donitations and I've sent in a few times a little bit. Hope you have a greet week and take care.
