Great news Sam. Cant wait to come shoot it.

Are you the Match Director?

If there is anything you need from Pueblo target wise, let me know.

Yes I am the MD and your Pueblo RF matches were my inspiration for creating this match. Just thought it would be fun to create a match in my back yard, and this match is setup a bit different than Pueblo, with much longer shot strings, dialing or holding over during the string for eight different ranges, and a high round count - so we'll see how it goes. It's going to be challenging.

Competitors will have to shoot fast, but I have not yet decided on how fast.

AA is building all the targets, so I don't think I'll need anything from you. Austin is taking a long time because he's not used to cutting targets so small, LOL. The targets should be ready any day now...

Can you post the actual distance to targets? I have DOPE, but I may have some gaps in it, if some targets are at 182 yards, for example.

Check the fourth bullet point in the OP under "Equipment Requirements." If you're looking for a specific suggestion there's tons of info in other threads here, or you could also check the Sniper's Hide Rifle Scopes subforum.

July 13 results sent to match email list.

Please note: The OP Match Description has just been edited to reflect a change in our firing protocol.

Instead of the 4x50 shot strings that we have been shooting, in August we will move to 8x25 shot strings, with two squads shooting simultaneously, at of course different target arrays. These changes are being implemented to speed up the match, as well as to reduce the stress and time associated with the five mag changes that we had been doing, on our very fast clock!

Which range do you shoot this on?

My son shoots in Dennis's indoor youth league and it would be great to get that going again.

Finally posting up some target pix after two seasons of running this match....

100y Mud Flap Girls and Six-hole flapper
83364
83365
125y Piano Keys and UN Blue Helmet Hostages
83366
83367
Geometric arrays at 150, 175, 200, and 210y.
Note the red golf ball on the upper left at 200, and the yellow ball at 210. They get hit regularly, even though we only allow one shot per string. Worth five points instead of one point for the other targets.

Love what you have done with the match. I almost ordered some of those mud flap girl targets.

Hopefully work will calm down soon and I will be able to make it up.

The March 13 match is cancelled, due to an ongoing dispute I am having with the BRC Board.

I will post another update prior to March 20, which is the day registration is set to open for the April 10 match. Hopefully I can get the matches going again, but the way things are going with the Board, there is a good chance that the match will die an early death.

Stay tuned. Thanks.

Match is cancelled. We had two fun seasons. Thanks to everybody who came out to shoot.

In October 2020 I stupidly placed some targets in an unsafe location, and the BRC Board slapped with me with a six month suspension. Fine. I deserved some punishment. Since then, my relationship with the Board has unfortunately gone from bad to worse, and I resigned from the Club a few days ago. The following memes tell the rest of the story.

I loved your mudflap girl racks. Knowing that it pissed off the fuds up there makes me want to buy one for sure now.

Thanks Hoser. It's bittersweet - I had been a member at BRC since 2010 or so - but it's over now.

I'd love to restart the match at a new venue. I have my eye on the CRC Silhouette Range, but all the weekends appear to be booked with other matches. It would be cool to do an RF match there with targets out to 4-500m. Cross my fingers for an opening some day...

Have you considered Ben Lomond? They have lots of space. Maybe that club would be interested in hosting your match.

Thanks for the BLGC suggestion.
I had a membership out there awhile back but let it lapse because it's pretty far from BOCO where I live.
I have a proposal currently in front of the CRC. Stay tuned. If they approve it we will have a cool new match with true "long range" targets.
