Passed unanimously.

Unfortunately they still don't get it. They took an oath of office which personally holds them (Sheriff too, BTW) to the standard of upholding the constitution, yet during the break as I talked to Holly Williams, she told me (condensed) "I think it's unconstitutional, but if the courts uphold it we'll have to enforce it."

Bzzzzt no, but thanks for playing.

"I'm just following orders..." Has been invalid since Nuremberg .

Ps. Do they have the meetings archived anywhere so I can watch this now, non-live?

Can I get the TLDR on what this was about?

Basically an El Paso county resolution opposing HB 19-1177 - the red flag law.

Download resolution here (word document). (https://www.agendasuite.org/iip/elpaso/file/getfile/8126)

One of the Moms Demand Action speakers (first time I've seen those shirts in the flesh) got schooled when she told the comissioners that if they voted for the resolution they wanted people to die.

O2

Bloomberg's brown red shirt brigade was out in full force.

The one lady who said she started the organization "mothers against school shootings" doesn't have crap. No one follows her on facebook, and her attempt at a gofundme raked in a whopping $150.

All lip service for votes.

Question for all this sanctuary bs:

If the DA doesn't like you, and/or otherwise brings firearm charges against you, what happens?

Ah, that's right, convictions.

If the ATF comes to arrest you, what happens?

Ah that's right, they arrest you.

All these "resolutions" mean is that they MIGHT selectively enforce some things against different people, which is about the worst direction you could go in. Friend of LEO? Look the other way. Bully from high school? Charge it! Ex-wife's new husband? CHARGE IT.

That's not a free society.

TLDR: What protections does this have for someone who is prosecuted or red flagged anyway? None.

At this point does anyone actually need to paste that quote from Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, or do we all know it by heart?

[snip]

Not to derail, but there's an important point in this. If they showed up, that means this county hearing/ordinance is important to them. It also means refusing the unConstitutional law carries weight even if only symbolic (EPC isn't going to send other LE agencies packing).

Remember how they tell us after winning elections that gun control is now settled. Guess it's not.

Carry on...

"Hank Rearden stroked Dagny's white thighs..."
That one?
