Hey guys im getting ready to start building a new varmint gun in .223 and have been looking around for a good deal on a complete lower but honestly I don't want to overlook some of them just because I haven't had any trigger time on them. So long story short i would just like to know what your favorite lower is along with a brief explaination of why!

Thanks in advance,

I say build your own. It only takes about 15min. of your time, and you'll get it the way you want it.

I second this. Unless you don't want to customize your rifle. If you dont want to build it yourself, I'm sure someone on here would assemble you one for some beer.

Most of the complete lowers I have seen in stores have been your more basic ones. Did see a National Match RRA in a gun store down here.

My favorite is my DPMS with my name engraved on it. NFA fun.....However, I do like my Sun Devil Billet for fit and finish. It also has a feature to take up slop between the receivers.

If you go strickly by the number of lowers, my favorite would be Olympic lowers but that is just cuz I found a bunch of them cheap. They're older and the finish is kinda thin, but they accept and drop MOST GI mags I've got. I've got a couple of Bushmasters that look really nice and drop EVERY mag I own, but they were a bit more expensive that all the rest. I've got an ASA that was the first lower I built an AR on that drops all the mags I own but the PMAG's (go figure that one if you can[Shock]) and one Tactical Innovations that drops everything and was less than $100 that drops all the mags I own. The best finish are the Bushmasters, then the ASA or the Tactical Innovations and then the Olympics. There isn't a whole lot of difference in finish between the Bushmasters or ASA or TI, but there is a BIG difference between them and the 4 Olympics I own. For the money, I'd get another TI because they've got nice finish and are about $50 less than the Bushmaster or the ASA. BTW, if you build your own, take LOTS of care with the trigger guard ears, I broke one on the ASA upper.[Rant1]

Spike's tactical look great and fit great, hard to find sometimes though, they were cheap when I bought 6 of them, only $80 stripped back in '08.

Build your own and put a JP single stage trigger in it- love mine, cleanest break ever for under $150

POF Buy a stripped one and build the way you like it. Only way to go

POF Buy a stripped one and build the way you like it. One of several ways to go.

Fixed.
