I just received a shotgun in some trading I have done and cant tell what it is. The barrel has stamped on it Remington Arms Co. Ilion,NY USA patents feb.3,1903 may 18,1905. the slide bar says Remington and Trapgrade. It is a bottom eject 12 guage and the barrel says full on it so i assume its a full choke. if anyone can tell me what model this is and or when it was made i would appreciate it. i will probably be selling it so if you know what it is and are interested let me know.

Post some pics if you can. I may know someone who can identify it.

Sounds like a Remington Model 10, but the dates must be patent dates. I don't think this gun was released until 1908 or 1909.
Edited to add: ya, release date was 1908. I think they were made into the 50's. The one I found on the web, Good condition used, was $170.
Didn't American Rifleman have a big center spread story about this gun just last issue?

What I have found so far for info goes like this. They started marking and calling them model 10 in about 1911. This is unmarked and what i have seen refered to as a pre model 10. Does that sound familiar to any one? I found 1 on GB for about $250.00. Probably all i will get for it so maybe i will sell.
