My neighbor is very involved with helping veterans through his Vets Helping Vets organization, and is involved in all things "veteran" on a local level in general. He is helping to host a MASH Ball (everyone dresses up like their favorite character from the show) on May 11th, 2019. He's having a little trouble getting donations for his raffle so I offered to reach out to my local shooting community to see what I could dig up. So far he does have one big ticket item in the form of a vacation house for 5-days in Florida that one of the post members owns. He has a home theater surround sound system, some kids bikes, some $30 dinners at local restaurants, etc. I'm going to reach out to some contacts I have up in Blackhawk to see if I can swing a few nights of a hotel. I'm interested to see if we have any business owners that may want to put up products or services for auction. I think there can't be enough restaurants. I'm sure there is room for shooting gear as well. If anyone has anything they've been sitting on that they might like to donate, please let me know. I know we've had a few threads in the past with "grab bags" full of misc items that have been pretty popular. I'd appreciate any input, and if I can't scrounge anything, no big deal.
Finally, I don't have a lot of money, but if there needs to be some compensation for something, send me a PM and I'll see what I can afford. I appreciate any help. I've attached the letter they sent out to all their members to share with you everything I know. Thanks.
