What zero do you all use for the Pueblo Tactical Rifle? Last event I shot a RDS zero'd at 36y w/55gr '193. Next event I'm going to shoot a LPVO, and it's zero'd at 100y. I usually shoot 55gr '193. I have some 75gr that I might use with the LPVO for the next comp.
What optic/zero/bullet weight combination do you all use?
I was told to know what my zero was at 200 yards. So I shot at paper at 200. Knowledge is helpful.
My 1-6 scope instructions specify a certain distance and the magic lines are supposed to make hits at specified distances.
Your scopes magic lines are probably pretty close using 193 loads.
Stick to the 55 grainers and practice. Avoid shooting off a bench.
For the 193 I?m on at 25, about 3? high at 100, on again pretty much at 200, and not horribly low at 300.
Basically if my target is roughly 8? I just hold center anywhere out to 300 and I?m good.

I was looking for comments from people who actually shoot the event. An example of an expected answer would be:
Hi BM, I shoot 223 55gr jhp on iron sights zero'd at 50m.
The zero is variable depending on the shooter . I run 200 yds on all my stuff , the zoomie runs 300 yds , and there are guys running in between at 250 and shorter at 100 .
The 100 yd zero creates hold over issues by not taking advantage of the ballistic path and using a rifle with no hold overs built in the sighting system, ie. a dot or iron sights .
One thing for certain is crossover zeros are crap and should be avoided , like the so called 25/200 yd zero . There is too much error built in that can not be seen at 25 that is glaringly obvious at 200 . And on top of that the cross over point is different on every gun because of all the ballistic variables not being exactly the same .

Um, that's what you got.
200yds on paper. Just sighting @ 50 will lie.
M193 @ 3052 fps, 16" barrel, 1-6x BDC
I also re verify when I switch to a different lot of bulk ammo.

Fwiw, when I was shopping for magnified, I looked @ the strike eagle 1-8 & the delineation on the reticle is more closely suited to an AR10, et al. They recently changed the spec info on their website to be more & less vague, so I noticed.

how do you like that 200y zero? are you happy with it?
It’s not a 200 yard zero. It’s knowing what my gear is doing at 200. Based on the scopes rectical.

For my purpose, yes.
Still learning though. It'll do until it doesn't.
100 yard zero, just like every other center fire rifle I own. I'm too old to remember which rifles have different zeroes. I'm comfortable dialing for elevation or shooting off the reticle. At that match, I typically dial up for the longest target on the stage figuring it will be the hardest to hit and the most intolerant of error. If necessary, I hold low on the closer targets.
alternatively, I just leave it at zero and hold over. Haven't decided which I prefer.
I'm shooting Hornady 75 HPBT Match going 2,609 fps. My drop at 300 is 1.3 mils, easy to hold.
I run a 300 on my Spitfire dot, hold bottom 1/2 at 200 and 6 oclock at 100. At 400 that makes for a 12 hold, 500 is 1 dot high and 600 is 2/12 for s high.
Pick a zero and learn your holds. Corno and plug it in to strelok and you will be close. You PW targets will be 300-125.
I am shooting 55s going around 3,050 fps.
I like a 300 yard zero. Hold dead nuts on for the most difficult shot we have, lower 1/2 or so for a 200 yard shot and bottom for a 100 yard shot. For a 400 yard shot I hold a potato off the top of the target and let it rip.
I use three scopes for games. An Aimpoint Micro, 2 MOA. A Schmidt and Bender 1-4 and a 1-8. Both with CQB reticles. Awesome scopes.
Hopefully next year we will occasionally get to play on the 400 yard range again.
I run a 100 yard zero on an ancient-ass Trijicon ACOG TA11 and generally abide by the BD marks in the reticle.
Ammo is using a 68gr Hornady bullet.

Thanks all for the good info.
The TA-11 donut is a rock solid scope. I still have one on one of my short uppers. It works great for many people, but up close it didnt work for me. The 1-4/8 variables are just way easier for my brain.

If you are trying to ?game? the Pueblo tactical rifle match. 80% of the shots are between 200-275. You may only shoot 6 plates at 300. And the plates we shoot inside 200 are large enough for most center holds.
with my 1x I zero at 300.
with scopes I?m at 250ish. I zero my first bdc drop line for 300

Its been a while since you have shot a Pueblo match. Things have changed quite a bit. From 275-300 you will have about 20-25 shots. 12 inch diamonds and one full size IPSC.

Show up with a zeroed rifle? Whoa, that's pretty bold. I think we need a new division for people with zeroed rifles ...
