I didn't see it but I think there was a movie named after these two. It was called "Dumb and Dumber". I wondered how they came up with the title, now I know.

Not like there isn't enough to pick from off democrat voting rolls.

You've really never seen Dumb and Dumber?
Big gulps ea fellas, welp see you later
The most amazing thing to me is he goes to the hospital and makes up a story about how he was essentially double-oh-seven and an assassin tried to take him out, and of course, the police are looking at this one-eyed earl with a drawling lisp and going "ok, who shot you really".
As opposed to you know, saying he was working on the roof and a hammer fell off the ladder and smacked him, or something. That whole story is icing on the cake to me.
What kind of asshole talks another person into shooting them, then gets mad when it hurts?
Well, I guess we know now.
That?s true trust in your drinking buddy. Not sure I?d let some of you shoot me sober for fear you?d miss the vest.
I'd probably let someone shoot me, but only after making sure it a Tier 3 rifle or less.
You've really never seen Dumb and Dumber?
Nope. Don’t like either of the actors.

I know right?
What a great story that no one other than a really drunk person may find convincing, I was laughing very hard when I got to the part of the story.
You've really never seen Dumb and Dumber? Nope, just not much of a movie buff. Lots of movies I've never seen and don't care to.

Nailed it!
I'd say to watch Dumb and Dumber just so you can say you've seen it, but after years of hearing people talk about Blazing Saddles I finally watched it and was pretty let down. The were only a few very funny parts and you could 150% make that movie today.

In fact, very few (especially h'wood) are capable of combining the subtle and hammer-driven innuendo like Mel Brooks could.
Unfortunately, the "public" will no longer even allow it.
Shame you couldn't appreciate the quality of comedy it presented.

Much of the humor in Blazing Saddles is generational.

Never saw D&D myself, but Blazing Saddles is in the top 10 comedies of all time for me. It probably is a generational thing.
Dale and Tucker vs Evil (2011). Just if ya looking for suggestions from new people
Blazing Saddles was probably one of the most funny movies of it's time, but let's not pretend that's it's level of comedy is untouchable.

Probably watched the edited version since the unedited version is harder to find. And, yes, much of the humor is generational so that places a role as well.
Definitely not the edited version.
JohnnyEgo said the burning spaghetti sauce/trailer park romance violence was 'Tuesday' in Florida. Maybe this is just 'Wednesday' in Arkansas.

I could take a bear trap to my nether regions, just to say I did it. Doesn't mean I want to. [Poke]
Blazing Saddles is one of my favs. Don't forget "History of the World: Part I". South Park is doing similar humor. Why not Mel Brooks humor? Everyone is on the chopping block.
Ever see Black Dynamite?

Don't be knocking Blazing Saddles, that's funny shit. So was History of the World. Space Balls had some funny stuff in it....yeah it's time stamped, but if you don't care for the time, you won't care for the value either probably...and that's okay.
There's tons of crap today that I couldn't give six shits about, that millennials and hipsters like. The other side of the coin.

Comedy is a very personal thing so I'm not passing judgment on whether you find it funny or not. OTOH, your perception that you could make "Blazing Saddles" in today's environment with jokes about racism, sexism, homosexuality, alcoholism, the mentally challenged, etc. ... is just ridiculous. In the first place, Mel Brooks would never get financing once he described the picture, much less presented a script. Al Sharpton would probably protest the whole railroad gang scene and even the scene about not wanting "the Irish." Geffen & Co would demand he remove the Dom Deluise scene. Someone else would whine and complain about Mongo. All the special interests would protest the film, the theaters, the producers, etc. About the only thing Brooks would be allowed to keep would be Harvey Korman's role as The Bad Guy.
Some people think you couldn't make Ace Ventura: Pet Detective today either.
I feel like no one has ever seen anything made by Quentin Tarantino or Sacha Barron Coehn or seen South Park, or Sausage Party.

Quentin Tarantino - Other than Crimson Tide, not one of his movies looked interesting enough to watch. The few I'm caught pieces of have confirmed my previous position on his movies.
Sacha Barron Cohen - Intellectually insulting. This is the best synopsis I can give for this douche bags work. The guy is a 5 star humorless idiot and his films reflect this 100%
South Park - Meh. Never did get why so many people found South Park humorous.
Sausage Party - My IQ felt as if it dropped 10pts after watching that film. Found very little in the movie to even chuckle at - and I saw those jokes coming miles out.
All of those seems to be select entries from a Millennial Favorites List. It's no wonder why I disdain all of them.
I think you've entirely missed the point that all of those mentioned have jokes about every single thing mentioned as undoable in film today.
On another hand, let's be realistic about Blazing Saddles in that none of the comedy in that movie is profound or has a delicate nuance required to understand. I'm not saying that it shouldn't keep it's place in film history and in the hearts of those who grew up with it, but nothing in that movie is untouchable by any means.

All in all it begs the question how much of generational popular culture is real, and how much of it is sort of a sociologic drive to like things that others like. Seen in a modern concept of many things that goes "viral". Yet, standing alone, they are often no better - and usually worse off than completely overlooked (films, music, comedy, whatever). Even if you (nonspecific) don't think your likes are driven by the masses, they actually are.
I was just trying to say that when I watched a movie I'd heard about many times, it was a bit over blown, so I wouldn't expect someone else to watch a movie just because it was popular. I don't mean to make a whole thing.

Try getting financing / backing for a movie that uses the N word, liberally throughout it. Where it's used by anglo's , the railroad cart scene, lynching with mexicans, KKK outfits, noose around a POC. Oh yeah i can see that protest conga line now.
Sausage party was ok, basically 1 liners. But IMO you need to be a Seth Rogan fan to appreciate it.
There's 1 possibly 2 of his i like. Tarantino, his stuff plays to my taste.
The Hateful Eight has most, if not all of what you just listed. No KKK outfits though.
I couldn't stand Hateful Eight. Kept waiting for something really entertaining to happen.. and it didn't. I wanted my time back.
Pulp Fiction had an interesting timeline and the soundtrack was really good.

Why don't they just make a movie where the space aliens kill the entire human race? It would definitely be a Darwinian ending!
