View Full Version : 2019 Want List
I think there might be a similar thread but darned if I can find it.
So, what?s on everyone?s firearm shopping list this year?
I have a goal to finish a couple of projects between now and the end of the year so I?ll mostly be buying parts and pieces.
There is one thing that I just discovered that I might have to keep an eye out for. Seems Ruger is putting out a cheaper version of their single-six. Probably to compete with cheaper offerings from other companies. With a real world price around $200 I might even pick up a couple just to dual wield. The burnt bronze one is calling to me.

An affordable DA .22 would be nice.

Springfield Armory Professional Model.
Ar10 pistol. Cant keep a loaded rifle on the RZR.
I need a lathe.... To many projects sitting and no lathe to finish them.
Im going to get a Ruger PCC in 40 cal when I can.
Going to have to wait to get the 40 with the new forend.

...I need to shoot the guns I have now.
Isn't that the truth. The only silver lining to that is when I eventually sell those guns I absolutely had to have but never used I can list them as "Like New...never fired!"

Nothing gun wise, if anything i'm in the downsize mode. Hopefully getting the lathe moved from crate to cabinet, this weekend.

Lathe yes I need that
I'm hoping I can figure out the laws right and place guns where I want/need them.

I just want less expensive ammo so I can actually afford to shoot and practice. I don't do enough because the price of ammo is still too high.
Those Wranglers do look nice. Adding to my 2019 want list, behind the SIG P210 and 320x5...
Cash. Lots of it. Everything else will fall into place.

Seems like online ammo prices are about as low as they will ever be (at least for common ammo). 9mm for 17 cents per round, 223/556 for 26 cents per round, etc.

Now is the time to buy. Plenty of rebates that made it even cheaper.

Yep...and plenty of free shipping offers around, too. I thought ammo prices were actually looking pretty good these days myself. I picked up some CCI .22Mag for $8 a box at a pawn shop in town last week.
I need to sell some guns. Mostly old rifles that are boring.

My wish list is pretty short right now.
A SIG P365 (to replace my J-Frame as a deep cover piece)
A .357mag lever gun (up until a couple days ago this was going to be a Uberti 1873 tweaked by Cody Conagher ... but now I'll be happy with a side loading Henry carbine at about half the price)
A good AR pistol (money no object a Q Honeybadger Pistol, but money is always an object :p ). Still not sure if I want to make the leap into .300bk or just stick with 5.56mm.
I would like to find a Keystone Crickett in 22mag. Orange poly stock and stainless bbl. Discontinued item as far as I can tell. Yeah, it's a single shot youth rifle, but I though it would make a handy backpack rifle.
CMP 1911.. otherwise I'm pretty good on other firearms. Need to keep adding to the ammo stack though. This past year has been great for adding to the 7.62 NATO stack. Hope to keep adding to the 5.45 stack and I guess I should start a 5.56 pile some day.
For a few years I've had an awful hankering for a Kimber Micro 9 Crimson Carry. I know, I know.... Pretty girls and pretty guns, but my life is too trouble free right now, and I miss shooting 1911's.
A good member here has a 300BLK pistol available that I'd like to play with but I'm not buying any more gun stuff until later in the year.
Perhaps higher on the list than the wants above is another AR scope, illuminated 1-6x or 1-8x Leupold or maybe a Vortex.

Just scratched the itch: A 617.

Now an Apex Mass Driver hammer (https://store.apextactical.com/WebDirect/Products/Details/191688) and get the action worked on. Ka-ching...

Especially with the elections next year, stock up before there is a run on everything

I would like to do an AR-9, not sure pistol or rifle. Don't feel like the hassle of an SBR although would be pretty awesome. If prices keep dropping wouldn't mind picking up a couple AKs in the 400-500 range.
Phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range.

Springfield EMP 4" Contour Carry, 9mm.
Ruger Mark IV 70th Anniversary Edition to sit next to my 50th Anniversary Mark II.
GT3 RS... maybe next year

It's not a single shot. However it is very portable and quick to assemble.

If you go with an AR platform. Consider a 4-8" bbl with a SB-3 brace.
Or for a standard carbine that (imo) hasn't missed a beat, no matter what ammo i run. Suppressed or not, the 9mm PC take down carbine is real fun and practical. It's become my Going to CA for a few days carbine, along with the 19.
I really want to build a gun from scratch, except the barrel and trigger pack, and maybe mag. Bend and grind some metal and 3d print a few goodies. Keep it legal of course. But make something from scratch. Now if I can only find the time....

Or just stay out of the general vehicle/tesla fanboy thread. That should free up some time.

I've wanted an AR9 for quite some time now and I finally took the plunge. I had a PSA AR9 lower for a few years and was planning on finishing the build on it but after researching uppers, I came across Foxtrot Mike. I looked into his products and picked an FM9 up last week. It is so well built and for ~$700, I don't think it was a bad deal. I'll post pics when the rest of the parts arrive so you can see what I am talking about. I almost went with PSA's 9mm AR9 pistol but I'm glad I spent a few more bucks for the FM9.

Currently there's a thread on a car forum somewhere similar to this one where someone has just said "Stay away from guns [or guitars] & you'll free up all sorts. : P"
Sorted by price.
$200 and under- Used Ruger LCR 38spc. or other good reliable pocket pistol
$200-500 - I wanna try PSA AK. At this price, I might get into used one if I am lucky.
$500-750 - PSA AR10. I am sure it is reliable , but probably not accurate. I haven't yet to own an AR-10. Another one is those < 4" 1911.
.I most likely would not purchase any firearm over 750 this year, unless it is just too good price (deal of a decade level) to pass on.

I really can't think of anything I want that bad, and am of the Bailey camp of having way more guns than I actually shoot, particularly in the category of ARs.
On the other hand, there are a couple of big ticket tools I hope to pick up this year, including a fancy bandsaw and a Festool Domino. I have found that I can only support one fancy hobby, vice, or addiction at a time, and this year it appears to be woodworking stuff.

Glad you like it! Not yet. Unfortunately might be another week or so before I get it out.
FWIW, the PSA AR9 uppers don't have a feed ramp, and as a result, they don't always reliably feed wadcutters or hollow points.
Saving pennies for an NX8. Other than that, I don't have any gun needs aside from maybe another suppressor.

I also wanna TRY 9mm 1911 but in comMANDO or 4" whatever size.

Get a Star Model BM. 4” barrel & slightly lighter and smaller than a “Commando” size 1911...... Like a 7/8 scale 1911.And they can be gotten for around $179.

That's why you install one of these, your 9mm upper will eat anything. I did 1 using my mill, the other with a flat file.

Do you just JB Weld that thing in?
No issues with the ramp getting in the way of the bottom of the bolt carrier?

For 179ish, maybe it is worth trying something new.
Thanks.
