What would the perfect reloading room be equipped with? Anything from bench design to special lighting to electrical needs, etc...

Kazoo's old shop in Windsor.

In my dreams, I think about having an ATF room.

A long work bench along one side with the following:
- Dillion 1050 set up for .223
- Dillon 1050 set up for 9mm
- Dillion 1050 set up for a large primer-based rifle cartridge of some sort
- Dillon 650 or 550 that gets ocassional use for loading stuff I don't shoot much of, oddball calibers and the like.
- LED lighting
- Cabinets for storing components

Along another wall would be one of those slick modular wall systems that lets you mount and display your firearms.

Along another wall would be a finished wetbar stocked with a mini fridge, ice, and a small humidor.
The bar would be stocked with a reasonable menagerie of medium-shelf liquor. The minifridge would have some beers, and there'd be one of those wine things that snooty people buy at Costco.
Then on the walls there'd be cool art. Like a picture of Gman posing on a Tesla or something.

Other stuff to include:
A premium sound system for listening to music while running a press.
A laptop on one of those cool swing arm mounts for looking up load data.
A vice.
Tools for working on guns.

The door is a vault-style door and the whole thing is hidden behind a book case stocked with books by Andrea Dworkin.

Also, would like to include a way to keep track of brass for processing. So, a way to differentiate between dirty brass, polished brass, and brass that's been trimmed and had the primer pocket swaged.

Also a Giraud case trimmer is a must.

I wonder if you could repurpose the acrylic bins like you see in hell food stores for bulk grain... set it up to look like a Wonka candy shop.

Currently I use 5 gallon buckets. It works ok.

More than I care to admit to.

Also, my ATF room shall have a leather wing back chair, an ottoman, and a medium/large dog, like a Visla.

Just add a bathroom and a couch. Then you only need to go to the house for meals.

Pretty sure he?s posted some pictures here before. All he needs is a crew of children from a third world country to run everything at once.

This is where i'm at with the new shop. A ground up build using the same sq footage as the CO one.

I scored 15 akro bins, something like 1 gal sized, at a garage sale for $0.50 per

Yeah, that would work, complete with lathe.

Finally got my new 10x30 set up

If you still plan to be in the area, you'll be surprised.

There's on site parking for an easy 15-20 vehicles. WITHOUT 1 of them hitting a fence or the shop on the way in or out.

You know who you are ...............

I just need more sq. footage and more shelves.

In a different house -

In a different state.......

You're an adult. But yes there's plenty of parking, even 2 roundabouts. For the intersection challenged

Yup. I get the garage, which gets kinda cold in the winter and kinda hot in the summer. And I get to share the garage with any stuff my wife no longer wants in the house. Any sizeable space which I could dedicate to a purpose - shop/cars/reloading would be wonderful. And Kazoos old shop in Windsor was the bomb. I can only imagine (fantasize?) what his new shop will be like.

For you young'uns, you need to picture the compact tube TVs of yesteryear that had some depth to them (and therefore a flat top)...

A friend of mine had a joke about his reloading room that went:

"The nice thing about having a TV on the reloading bench is that it gives you a place to put your drink and ashtray."

O2Do we even have anyone here that is young enough to not remember tube TV's? I remember black and white tube TV's that required actually getting up and changing the channel, and I'm not even very old. I also remember the National Anthem being played in the late evening/early morning hours on the television, and it freaked me out because I'd seen Poltergeist at a younger age than appropriate lol.

Kids these days are spoiled. I grew up with three channels. And when you would walk up to the tv to switch channels you would have to tweak the antenna to get each station to come in clearly.

Fortunately I was only allowed to watch for maybe an hour on Saturday mornings.

I do remember having to change channels for my old man in the evenings so he wouldn?t have to get up to do it.

And you were probably yelled at for sitting too close to it as it was bad for your eyes. Now everyone walks around with their cell phones a foot from their face.

There was a reason the glass was about 4" thick and embedded with lead [Poke]

My parents kept their 1970's era wood console TV up into the 2000's despite my efforts over a decade to get them to upgrade.

Then they bought the worlds biggest CRT TV, (32" --- 180+ lbs) which of course they needed me to come over and install. WHYYYYYYYYYY

So did my mom...bigass 8 ft long, American made Curtis Mathis "Hi Fidelity" beast. She was very proud of that 60s or 70s piece of electronic engineering.

I have clear memories of doing the same. My dad would put pieces of masking tape on the tubes and the sockets, would write matching numbers on the tape for each pair, and then put them all in a paper bag. We'd head over to the 'five & dime' where he would test each one (on the stand-alone tube tester cabinet, common in stores at the time) until he found the bad one. Then he'd grab the box with the matching specific tube code out of the cabinet and we'd head to the check-out. Get back home and put all of the matching tubes back in place and then the replacement. I don't recall multiple tubes going out at the same time.

I hear you're only as old as you feel...
