12 inches of wet snow and still snowing. Trying to knock snow off the tree branches to keep them from breaking. I don't think i will be mowing the lawn for a few days. Good thing i am retired and don't have to go anywhere.

I think my rose bushes might be damaged. My commute from north Denver to Cheyenne was uneventful except they had way too many plow trucks out clogging traffic just to push a very small amount of slush off the edge of the road.

yee Haw, isn't spring fun. So glad I upgraded tractors recently. Made the job of plowing the driveway go so much quicker. I even got to work on time, which is more than any of my co-workers could say.

Is there a job any where else in the world where you can be so wrong but yet not worry about losing your job,....as is weather forecasters in Colo. Just yesterday morning they were saying "maybe 4" on Palmer divide". Ooops, missed it by a good 8"-10".

We got 8" overnight after ~5" the past two days. I won't bother plowing because the ground is too soft and it would just tear up the driveway.

The snow was useful yesterday because I could track a large boar bear that came down the driveway and wandered around the house and cars next door. He came to our place and got bit by the electric fence in two places and then left. At least I know it works--as long as the electricity is on. I've seen this bear numerous times over three years and he's a big boy now. On May 6 he thumped the house at 4:20 am, and I got the flashlight on him at the window at less than 2 feet away. Shot him in the butt with rubber buckshot.

The weather doesn't piss me off but the "weather forecasting" sure does when we need it.

Friday we had a fun event planned and it was 180 different. Cold and raining.

Used to be 24 hours was a guessing game but now they can't even get the day right!

My apple trees had blossoms for the first time since I planted them six years ago.
Don't think I will be seeing any apples.

And if forecast is right for 27 degrees tomorrow morning my greenhouse tomatoes may not make it.

I didn't think we'd have any more snow this spring.

I hope the garden pulls through. It probably will.

So glad I upgraded tractors recently.

You can't just say "I upgraded tractors" and leave us all (well...me) hanging. From what, to what, did you upgrade?

After the last one I thought we'd get one more, now I'm not so sure we won't get another dose of snow this spring.

New rule - don't plant the garden until after June 1st.

Just when I thought the risk was over (snow had stopped, sun came out and things were starting to melt) we lost power. About 3 hours. Now we're back.

upgrade pic. as requested. Almost double horse power and 50% more bucket AND my neighbor let me put his 5' snow blower on the back, although this snow was way too wet to blow.
Little Kubota left last weekend, and I'll bet that guy is dang happy to have it. Only wish my new ride had HSD.

Very nice! Is that a 4xxx series?

I don't need one that big (as opposed to "want one that big") but I have a pretty nice 2038R with backhoe and all sorts of fun gadgets and attachments. Amazing how capable they are. I have to plow with a back blade...not ideal but works for the occasional plowable snows we get.

I was always told not to plant anything or start up sprinklers until after Mother's Day. So, I waited until this last Sunday to start 'em up. I had to re-winterize them last night when I got home from work. It looks like June 1st might need to be the new date.

While I expected one more snow, I thought it be little more than a dusting. I was wrong - just like the TV/radio meteorologists. Ended up with around 10" at my house & damn was it heavy. It took me 1/2 to snow blow my short driveway.

We lost power @ my place this afternoon too (East side of Powers at Dublin). Not sure how long it was out, but I had to reset all of the clocks around the house when I got home. I know it was out at least 10 minutes around 5:45 this evening because my wife was home for that outage.

I lost a good Tartarian Maple tree from this heavy snow. It's laying in a big heap in my backyard. It has more huge splits in it than the Russian gymnastics team. Loved that tree - it provided privacy on my back porch from my next door neighbor and would get beautiful red helicopter seeds on it in early summer.

Interesting because in May 18, 2017, we had 30.5" of snow at our place on the Peak-to-Peak, and according to that Denver didn't get any.

I'd be surprised if Trail Ridge opened by Memorial Day.

I lost an Ash in a Mother's Day storm a few years ago. Didn't want to replace it with an Ash due to the Emerald Ash Borer. After some research, we replaced it with a Kentucky Coffeetree. They put out leaves a bit later than most other trees and drop them a little earlier, so you dodge many of these wet heavy snow storms. It's also an interesting looking tree after it drops its leaves, and is also drought and pollution tolerant. http://www.thetreefarm.com/kentucky-coffeetree
