Anybody else catch Hickies announcement on "Gun Control" for his 2020 run?
https://www.denverpost.com/2019/05/22/john-hickenlooper-national-gun-licenses-presidential/
A few excerpts:
Universal background checks: Hickenlooper is calling for national background checks for all gun sales, pointing out that one in five gun purchases do not undergo checks because of existing loopholes. He wants to close loopholes and extend the current three-day waiting period to 10 days in order to close what's known as the "Charleston loophole," which enabled Dylann Roof to purchase guns he used to kill nine parishioners (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/dylann-roof-charleston-church-shooter-gets-nine-life-sentences/) in a black church in 2015.
National gun licenses: Gun owners would be required to obtain a national gun license that would also require a background check. The license would need to be renewed online every five years.
Raise minimum age to own a gun to 21: Currently, individuals in the U.S. who are at least 18 years of age may own a gun. Licensed firearms sellers may sell handguns to people who are not under 21 years old. But unlicensed people may sell or transfer handguns to people who are 18 years of age.
Encourage extreme risk protection orders: Would give grants to states to encourage them to put laws on the books allowing families and law enforcement to remove -- temporarily -- a person's access to guns in order to prevent gun violence, if there are warning signs that the individual poses a danger. Such laws have been passed in Colorado and 14 other states, according to a release from the Hickenlooper campaign.
Magazine limits and bump stocks: Hickenlooper passed magazine limits in Colorado and is pushing for similar action nationwide. He's also calling for Congress to codify the Justice Department's interpretation of a rule to effectively ban bump stocks, which are used to make legal firearms function in a manner similar to automatic weapons.
Assault weapons ban: Calls for renewal of assault weapons ban, which was passed in 1994 and expired in 2004. Some in Congress have tried to renew the ban and failed. Hickenlooper acknowledged in his press release the problems with the earlier ban, noting that gun manufacturers found ways to evade the ban. He believes that the ban introduced by Democrats this year addresses many of the shortcomings of the prior bill. (Note-I also saw on 7 News where he proposes a ban on "Silencers")
Boost access to mental health services for children: School-based mental health services and community health centers can help identify and support students "who require more intensive services or...law enforcement intervention," the campaign's press release noted.

Funny thing is-nowhere on his website is there any mention of this or his agenda at all.
Discuss in a civil manner.
I shall begin: FJH
Why does anyone listen to him. Milk toast governor who never had an original idea.
This is about as civil as I can get. Eff Hickenlooper and the unicycle he rode in on.

When you're poll numbers are less than 1% you resort to typical leftist mantra to get noticed

True! I am waiting for him to do something very dramatic to gain recognition.

He will never be elected POTUS so I do not care what his views on guns are.

Whats interesting is that his gun registration scheme would only apply to people born after 2001 ... so these f-wits hate the 14th amendment as much as they hate the 1st, 2nd, and the rest.
Civil, huh? I guess that rules out saying he can go f#ck himself with a barrel cactus covered in rock salt and smallpox? If that's the case, I got nothing...
He always presented himself as being a socially moderate, pro-business Democrat.
But in order to have any sway with the DNC for a possible presidential run, he had to signal his intentions to them back in 2013, and as one of the government people most directly responsible for turning Colorado blue, he's probably got a lot of Good Boy points with the DNC.
But for him to have any shot at even getting basic attention for the nomination, he's going to have to bend the knee to the DNC, which means signing up for all of the planks in their party platform.

He's also a cis white male. So if he's going to get anywhere in the party with its current identitarian bent, he either needs to change his name to Mohammad or start sucking dick. Because they've already got plenty cis white males (and probably too many). Ones like Bernie and Creepy Joe are only there because they're deeply connected inside the machine.
At this point I think most of the white men in the race are actually angling for a cabinet position (or maybe a VP slot).

This and notice the crowd he's speaking to... The mostly out-of-state Dems who called him in 2013 and told him to pass the bills. Reminds me of "Beto" getting all that coastal money to turn Texas blue. Beto had to go far Left to get the cash but then couldn't get elected.

Yes and he chose not to run on that. He could have presented himself as a sane moderate in a field of radical socialists while talking up Colorado's business record. But he's running on gun confiscation instead and coming from a state where gun control caused recalls with continued mass shootings (failure as always).
This will play well in CA/NY.

Wouldnt they like him more if he did both?
Why use "or"?
Yeah, expect the DNC to select for an openly gay Hispanic female. That should push all the democratic white guilt buttons...

Even though I agree, that's what nearly EVERYONE said about Trump. In the words of Gomer Pyle - "Surpriiise, surprise, surprise!"

That's how the game's played. Hickenlooper doesn't have a shot in hell at president, but would probably be a good VP choice for the Dems if they go with someone like Kamala Harris or Corey Booker for president. Hickenlooper is just boring enough in presentation and appearance that he'll calm down all of the boomers who've been punching their ballots for the dems since the late 60s.
Sort of how they picked Biden for VP for Obama as a way to help defray the criticism that Barack didn't have any experience.

Good ol Hick. I can?t believe nobody has called him out about his pervy ass grabbing when he had the downtown restaurants. He was a good day drinker and pervert with the female employees. Witnessesed it many times. He?s a clown.

I am still waiting for him to be called out on his non-decision about the Chuck E. Cheese murderer's (name is not important) date with the death penalty.
He could not commit to commuting the sentence, or to proceeding with the execution.
Presidents have to make decisions whether they are popular or not - a President just can't say I will postpone that to the next office holder's term.
"The murderer was sentenced to be executed for killing four people at a Chuck E Cheese restaurant in 1993. When the moment came, Gov. John Hickenlooper halted his execution to give him a temporary reprieve in 2013 — but didn’t grant Dunlap clemency. He left it to the next governor to ultimately decide Dunlap’s fate."
He is a drunk and a bad drunk. I hope he gets used as an example of what not to do if you want to run as a Dim.

Well if you cross that line then you have to worry about bearded men with long knives showing up to throw you off buildings. Hick is a whore, but he's no fool.

Here's the rub... It won't happen until we are out of the way. They are playing nice because they have a common enemy (us). Both sides have delusions of seizing control once the dirt people are disarmed and removed.
Our existence makes this alliance sustainable.

(Funny thing about that story, the "Muslim registry" was never a real thing, another FakeNews hoax created after Clinton lost. But see how they coalesced around opposing Trump?)

Meh, fair.
I will fall back to my standard RapSheet Rhonda reply:
Hick can pleasure himself with a twisted wire heavy gauge stainless steel bottle brush soaked in turpentine, Ebola and AIDS driven by a DeWalt Max 20 volt hammer drill.
On high speed.

Nah, I think it will be more of a short stroll.....Bilderberger and all.
DeWalt Max 20 volt hammer drill.

The problem with those cordless drills is they're never charged when you need them.
Someone we know has a nice lathe he could use instead.

If the GOP weren't a bunch of feckless imbeciles, they'd have been finding the women that he harassed and have #metoo'd him long ago.

This really only works on a national level where there is enough interest to cut through local Pravda.
I'm fairly certain Handcock was on DPD surveillance going into a known Denver whorehouse and was still elected. Not to mention his own #MeToo sexting scandal.
He's in a run-off election now. None of this is in the media.

It's interesting to note that on 5/23 BPTactical points out that Hick calls for a suppressor ban, and on 5/31 there's a mass shooting that uses one.
It's a total coincidence that is worth pointing out for reasons.
