Got an nice invitation to a paid survey. I won't even click the link thank you.

It may be legit, but I find that very hard to believe... even in traditionally conservative El Paso County.
Elevated Insights is a market research firm.
Somebody's looking to generate consensus for something.
We need to stop avoiding these things and contribute meaningfully to the dataset... if we don?t share our thoughts and positions, we don?t have one.

What does this have to do with the ATF?
He's implying that the ATF is conducting this sort of thing as a honeypot operation.

Ah. OK. I thought I'd missed something. (Actually, I guess I did.)

You may want to show up and give your opinion for the $150. They already know you are a gun owner

Just a lame attempt at humor. But I'm struggling to trust something like this, in the current climate, as anything more than a way to identify law abiding gun owners.
Of course the government already knows who purchased firearms, but what is the intent/ identity of the organizers of this discussion group?
If there was more information about the agenda, I might be less skeptical.

Research studies rarely will give too much information beforehand. They want to know what you think about something, not what you researched on the internet. Would rather have you represent the gun owners than others I have ran into at public ranges.
I can understand not wanting to go, but what do you have to lose? You have probably filed many 4473s, have a CHP, and maybe even have a few tax stamps on record...
Know about a way to get invited? I'd go!

Well, it appears I didn't qualify. I should have taken screen shots of the questions.
I did answer honestly, but feel like I excluded myself when I answered: (paraphrasing) " the government should not pass laws that would restrict firearms" and "the government should not do things, or restrict things, that businesses and individuals can do"

I just tried the survey. They want age, gender, ethnicity, connections to marketing/research etc, and whether you are/were LE or MIL. Youu can "prefer not to answer" on gender and ethnicity.
I'm guessing being an adult white male of a certain age demographic precludes you from this "study/discussion panel".
But, hey... At least I'm on yet another list... [tinhat][hammer]

I didn't even get far enough into the qualifications to answer anything remotely close to those.

They are asking me about smart guns.

& I'm out. Guess they didn't like my answer.
Said I was aware of the technology.

^^ A: Smart guns aren't.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey! Based on your answers we don't currently have a spot available for you in this study.
I guess they got all the data from 38 year old white males they need.
If anyone goes, I want to know what consensus they are trying to reach regarding smart guns.

I got as far as age/gender. "Don't call us, we'll call you." It's OK...I wouldn't have gone back for that anyway.

Apparently they don't want or perhaps value a civilian, sport shooting, firearm owning, educated, sensible, responsible, middle aged, law abiding, caucasian/other lady's opinion.
Go figure.
They may already have plenty "old white men" signed up for the study and are trying to gather other voices for the study; which is what they should be doing.

Agreed... I thought that too...until I said I was aware of the technology they were referencing.
Not opinion, just fact.

The first question got me:
"Do you commit to provide honest and accurate answers to the best of your knowledge?
***Please be honest with your answers as it helps us better match you with research studies. Discrepancies between your survey & study participation or completing the same survey multiple times can lead to you being ineligible to participate in future research.***"

If they're looking for a consensus from "gun owners" they're probably just trying to find somebody who's got Grandpa's old shotgun stashed in the basement, but who otherwise will agree with whatever point they're fishing for.
There were a lot of those who testified back in 2013. Fudds and the like.
I got as far as the 1st page and chickened out.

Apparently no spots for Asians/Pacific-Islanders over 50 either ... probably looking for the typical SJW demographics (young, white people living in zip codes near Colorado College) so they can get the survey to say what they want.

I filled it out as if I was my son, guess they do not need any 20 year old white males either. That's is far as I got.
yeah, not linking my name to my phone number to an email, just to be told I don't qualify

I always use my Google phone # & spare email for anything not directly friends & family. I have no problem using them because this is why I have them.

That was the response I got when I filled it out...
And I got called on my cell for follow up. About to return their call and see what they have to say. I'll follow up later.

Sounds like you should pursue some sort of discrimination claim against them.

It's just a survey, not Harvard.

That's awesome. All kinds of restroom choices AND special treatment from the progressives regarding everything else too. Pretty smart.
