Michael John Suppes, 45, was arrested after he was pulled over on Interstate 25 with 50 illegal AR-15s and AK-47s he had agreed to sell to undercover agents who claimed they planned to smuggle the weapons into Mexico, according to a federal indictment filed Tuesday.
What exactly is an illegal AR-15?

Suppes later agreed to sell the undercover agent 30 AR-15 rifles and 20 AK-47 rifles $84,650 ? which included him transporting the guns to El Paso, Texas, the indictment says. These weapons had illegal 10-inch barrels, according to the indictment.
It's an AR-15 where you haven't paid the bribe to decrease its efficiency and increase its loudness.
Unserialized lowers and 10" barrels, according to one of the reports I read.

From other sources, it sounds like 80% lowers with 10.5" bbls and stocks.

That will get you a vacation in the PMITA Club Fed....
What exactly is an illegal AR-15? Pesky little critter that will shoot you in the ass without provocation. They become especially deadly when they have things like threaded barrels, pistol grips, collapsible stocks, and the knee knocking teeth chattering shiver up your spine thirty round magazine...never know what those little buggers are going to do. They are especially bad mofo(s) with a bump stock. There's study after study because these things are so damn violent.
Didn't this guy know that he's muscling in on Eric Holder's turf?

No kidding. Privatized Faster & Furiouser.
Love that stock photo on 9News with the oh so popular 38 Super cartridges. They look more impressive than a little 9x19. I guess a .50 BMG was a bit 'too much'?

Wow, I didn't click on that. At least they educated themselves on the subject of the picture. [hahhah-no]

It's like he doesn't know that Obama is no longer president.
But on his FB is pages and pages of anti-Trump BS with the typical Christian hate thrown in...
He's one of those "Unaffiliated" voters according to public registration. His partner (? - different last name) is a registered Dem.
Probably not political though, right? It's not like his actions would directly and indirectly contribute to more gun control.
The organization “Toy Liquidators” “appears to be fictious,” the indictment says, and was linked to Supples following a government search of Stamps.com records. Federal agents determined Suppes also used business names including “The Bicycle Shop LLC” and HobbyTown INC” in more than 1,200 domestic and international shipments from January 2015 to November 2018, according to the indictment. These businesses all listed their addresses as UPS stores in Fort Collins.
So how many notguns has this guy sold and shipped?
ETA: Removed link in case it's not the same individual.

Yeah, they probably wouldn't even require a Bandaid to treat those gunshots.

Depends on the velocity. If you could fire it at relativistic speeds, it would cause A LOT of problems.

But once juicing gets out of hand again...
In a past life, I used to ride motorcycles around these parts w/ a fella named Mike Suppes who would be about the same age. Maybe just coincidence but I need to see some pics of him to see if it's the same guy or not.

From the article in the Denver Post (where the TV reporters seem to get their information), it sounds like he has been doing this for a long time with many transactions and shipments.
A lot of money has changed hands with sales to multiple foreign buyers.

It very well could be the same person. He had a motorcycle performance shop out of Windsor that made custom exhausts, etc http://www.mjsperformance.com/

Agreed but I haven't talked to the guy in nearly two decades so... who knows? We also rode sport bikes which is what the business is known for making exhausts for so it very well could be. I don't recall why I quit hanging out with him but it likely wasn't anything goo.... wait a minute. It's coming back to me now: he ran off with a buddy's fiance. I think they were engaged and he knew the guy (one of our riding crew) and made advancements on her anyway. Real stand up guy he was so I'm shocked by these latest developments if they are indeed factual.

That dude is NOT 45-years-old.
yeah, kinda wondering about that.
There is a Michael John Suppes in the CO voter registry, from Delta, but he was born in 1956, which comports w/ Skip's finding. I am not sure that's the right one.

Could be the perp isn't registered in CO.

Right, but my point is the voter registry agrees with the facebook you found. But neither agree with the news report on his age or location.

Shocking, why? between the 30K + population in what is now called windsor (31st to the east all the way to across 25, down to 34 and up to hwy 14) why be surprised. There was a meth lab bust off walnut & 1st 4 yrs ago.
Heroin & weed sales bust out of an RV, across from the main park. The warm / summer weather gangs from ft fun & greeley at the lake . And you're shocked about a major arms bust ?
How many times was The Duke cited for under age alcohol sales? Yet kept their lic.
Right, but my point is the voter registry agrees with the facebook you found. But neither agree with the news report on his age or location.
The SoS registration on the company doesn't agree either. Strange.
It's completely possible two people have the exact same name but I haven't seen a case where only one was in the registration data.

Dude, you're living in the past. Windsor was a little town when the only 2 lights were at 7th & main and 9th for the middle school. AND the town ended where Steeles market was. Once they started adding lights, water valley, 2 supermarkets, 6 more liquor stores and what, 15 starbucks i'd say it was no longer "little" Throw in the once 10 min drive to 25 taking up to 45 min, depending on time of day.

Not so fast. Someone has my exact same name (first middle and last) but they are a felon on the east slope. To my knowledge, they have no registration data... As felons can't vote anyway. Not uncommon to have same FML with someone else jn your state. Less common that they aren't voter reg'd but it does happen. Often there can be 20-40+ people with your same first and last in a single state (theater shooter anyone?)
Sometimes far more.

I guess if your name is Michael Joseph Smith.
There's 119 registered Suppes in CO.
Being a felon in CO isn't a lifetime prohibition from voting.

And, thanks to Dims, you can even vote on parole!

If the suspect is a felon he's quadruple screwed. Wouldn't surprise me given the charges.
The funny part is if it's the same guy he was super religious and holier than thou. I guess selling arms and arms components to enemies of our nation aren't prohibited specifically in the bible.
That's usually how people who are holier than thou are.

This is why I assumed the FB account matched the perp... The FB posts are similar to the beliefs of other 2A terrorists and gun runners.
