Sad thing, for those who know CA, all those "hard hats" holding Vote Yes. They're all CALTRANS state retirement funded employees. Now that's a scam if ever there was one.

The kind of Lib we have in CO isn't going to be happy with this. Remember the oil and gas bill? Significant number of voters overcame their political hatred of the industry to vote against it because they didn't want higher energy costs.

Not saying it won't happen, just that they risk pissing off their base in CO. There are still too many middle class Libs here.

I'm not convinced that matters anymore. Politics has become way too tribal.

I remember talking to a couple of my liberal neighbors who were complaining about how all of the sudden the cost to renew tags on their cars almost doubled. I pointed out that it was their boy Ritter that bypassed Tabor with this "its a fee not a tax" bullshit and caused the problem and they instantly shut up. One of them said "well I guess it was the right thing to do then".

Also the first tax increases after the Tabor repeal will be very public but small ... but they'll start doing things like indexing tax rates to inflation and other tricks to trigger automatic tax increases that just appear out of nowhere and are never publicly debated or voted on. It'll take them a few years to destroy the CO economy with massive taxes and debt, but they'll eventually boil that frog (hell, even if Tabor stays its been so weakened and loopholes discovered that they'll eventually get there either way).

I'm inclined to agree and I'm almost never optimistic about anything. THIS time they'll probably fail. But eventually they'll succeed (but lets be honest, eventually the entire country will fall to the leftists ... its the nature of entropy).

It won't fall to leftists technically. It'll fall to our internal divisiveness with significant foreign investment spanning the last few decades and with logarithmically more investment by foreign nations for a few more years into the future. It's an asymmetric war we can't win and they can't lose, because their state controls the press. Our press is now controlled, in part, by their state as well. Win/win - for China and Russia.

ETA: And "righties" are falling victim to it just as much as lefties. Whether or not "lefties" would bankrupt us many decades in the future, it's theoretical, as our growing national divisiveness will deprive them of the chance.
