Colorado Legislative School Safety Committee Hearing THURSDAY

The Colorado legislature has started an interim "School Safety Committee" in light of the tragic STEM School shooting in Highlands Ranch. This committee will be meeting outside of the regular legislative session, and consists of four democrats and four republicans, as well as a panel of "experts" who will have been invited to speak. These meetings will be at the Colorado State Capitol in the Old State Library. All meetings are open to the public and are expected to be over by noon. Although they will not be taking public comment during the meeting, you can submit YOUR public comment online here: http://www.leg.state.co.us/CLICS/cslFrontPages.nsf/SS.xsp

Bloomberg and his crony organizations have instructed the gun grabbers to "fill the room". This is because part of what they will be discussing will be next year's gun control legislation for when they reconvene in January. It is critical that everyone who cares about ensuring our kids are safe and protected in schools, while also maintaining our rights, attend and observe.

Rally for our Rights will be there, live streaming to our Facebook page, and releasing a highlight video after the meeting. If you can make it, please put the dates/times below on your calendar. The first meeting is this coming Thursday, July 11th at 9:00am. The gun grabbers must no longer be the only voice in these discussions when 98.7% of school shootings happen in Gun Free Zones!

If you cannot make it, please consider making a contribution which helps us ensure we have film equipment present for streaming and software to release video after. CLICK HERE to make a donation.

July 11 - 9:00 a.m.

August 20 - 9:00 a.m.

September 20 - 9:00 a.m.

October 31 - 10:00 a.m.

There's 4 republican in CO ?

I used my old address ;) Hey if out of state money can buy more restrictive gun laws. I can voice my opinion. too.

Until we as a community can admit there are issues with some peoples psychological stability. There are no laws, be it more restrictions on guns, ammo, magazines, vehicles, items to make explosives with. That will stop one bent on destruction, be it in a school, mall, movie theater, home. Nothing can prevent anyone from going off the deep end.

Murder is illegal and that doesn't stop this from happening. Gun laws don't work. Look at California, a shooting happens and the first thing the lawmakers propose is Tougher Gun Laws. Yet there's still shootings in CA. More laws don't equate to less violence. Tougher sentencing, NOT Plea Bargaining, no early release from prison for violent offenders etc. Acknowledge a student has issues, not ignore them hoping it doesn't ruin the schools standing That's where you start.

But, but you gotta be a billionaire before you can express an out-of-state opinion.

The committee studies statutes governing school safety, emergency response planning, and prevention of threats, and reviews and evaluates programs and methods for identifying and monitoring students in crisis.

If they stuck to that agenda, this wouldn't be a bad thing.

Rapsheet Rhonda is the vice chair this session.
