Can't say I'm surprised.
I think this will get a lot of voters off the fence. The narrative of illegal immigrants as victims who Trump is putting in concentration camps because they are brown was just shattered.
I do wonder how much Trump and the Feds are going to tolerate with blue states/cities being in open insurrection.

Protesting is fine but not vandalizing.
Protesting is fine but not vandalizing.
I think the symbols used are important.
This wasn't a sign that said "Orange Man Bad." It's the flag of a foreign nation being used to replace the US flag. That's kind of significant to me and judging by socials it's having a big impact on others.
It really only reinforces what I believe about Dems hating this country. Hating it when they win elections, hating it more when they don't. It's just a really "in your face" kind of symbol.
So taking over a location and hoisting a foreig flag.... Sounds like a hostile invasion?

Everyone has to make his own choices but I think this symbol was intended to communicate exactly that; Americans get out. This happened in CA as the folks were disarmed. I imagine CO Dems have to attempt the same.
There must be some major stuff behind the scenes between these states and the Feds. There were Dem pols posting the ICE raid dates/times on twitter yesterday. Many are using taxpayer resources to defend illegals (hotlines and centers).

I hope so. Its just that the fence sitters are about as bad as the "Apathetics" in Zardoz (now there's a weird movie reference for you).
The biggest idea that this kind of thing undermines is the idea that "They all just want to come here to become Americans because they love America so much." Although you'd think years of pro-illegal protests where they march with Mexican flags chanting "no Ice, no wall, no USA at all" would have clued these people in.
How in the heck did any politicians get dates and times of raids?
This will effect voters zero.

I agree completely. The fact that people are okay with this at any level tells me the plans of demonizing patriotism that I can remember as early as the late 90s (maybe it was happening before that) was and is working. The lack of patriotism and understanding out symbols is exactly what dems and people who hate this nation want. They want people to not care, which is happening. There will be further steps past this in demoralizing and destroying this nation. This is still in the early stages.
And I agree with Bailey, I look back on all my political science education over the past 20 years and I am disgusted of what has happened and what is coming.

I think this will affect voters a lot...but only in a "preaching to the choir" way. Voters who despise what happened will continue to vote for more conservative candidates, voters who like this sort of sentiment will vote for candidates that support it. I don't think too many fence-sitters will be affected at all. This will be a distant memory by the time Nov 2020 rolls around.

It is a conspiracy by the reborn Whigs to renege on the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
signed on February 2, 1848 called for the U.S. to pay US $15 million to Mexico and to pay off the claims of American citizens against Mexico up to US $5 million.
It gave the United States the Rio Grande as a boundary for Texas, and gave the U.S. ownership of California and a large area comprising roughly half of New Mexico, most of Arizona, Nevada, and Utah and Colorado.
Mexicans in those annexed areas had the choice of relocating to within Mexico's new boundaries or receiving American citizenship with full civil rights.
The U.S. Senate advised and consented to ratification of the treaty by a vote of 38 to 14.
The opponents of this treaty were led by the Whigs, who had opposed the war and rejected manifest destiny in general, and rejected this expansion in particular.
Did they just declare war?
Game on.
Armed man shot, killed after throwing incendiary devices at Washington ICE detention center (https://www.foxnews.com/us/armed-man-reportedly-shot-after-throwing-incendiary-devices-at-ice-detention-center)
Police in Washington state say an armed man was shot and killed early Saturday after trying to attack a local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center.
The Seattle Times reported that the unidentified man appeared outside of the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma with a rifle and threw incendiary devices at both the facility and nearby propane tanks, at one point setting a vehicle on fire.
Officers responded to the incident around 4 a.m. and called out to the man before shots were fired. It was not clear how many shots were fired or whether the man fired at police.
Anti-migrant detention protests lead to 16 arrests in Phoenix (https://www.foxnews.com/us/16-arrested-during-anti-migrant-protest-in-phoenix)
Police in Phoenix, Ariz. (http://www.foxnews.com/category/us/us-regions/southwest/arizona), arrested 16 people Friday night during a protest of planned sweeps by Immigration (http://www.foxnews.com/category/us/immigration) and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Authorities said a group of protesters blocked a downtown street and disrupted light rail traffic outside the local ICE office. KSAZ reported (http://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/arizona-news/pd-16-arrested-during-anti-migrant-detention-protest-in-downtown-phoenix) that a small number of people did not clear the roadway and the light rail tracks when they were asked, prompting the arrests.
In all, 14 people were accused of unlawful assembly and obstructing a public thoroughfare, while two were charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.
...and then we have...
Trump Administration Gets Court Victory in Sanctuary Cities Case (https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/12/us/sanctuary-cities-ruling.html)
SEATTLE — A federal appeals court on Friday gave President Trump a rare legal victory in his efforts to crack down on so-called sanctuary cities, upholding the Justice Department’s decision to give preferential treatment in awarding community policing grants to cities that cooperate with immigration authorities.
The 2-to-1 opinion overturned a nationwide injunction issued last year by a federal judge in Los Angeles. The appeals court said awarding extra points in the application process to cities that cooperate was consistent with the goals of the grant program created by Congress.
“The Department is pleased that the Court recognized the lawful authority of the Administration to provide favorable treatment when awarding discretionary law-enforcement grants to jurisdictions that assist in enforcing federal immigration laws,” the Justice Department said in an emailed statement.
Federal courts have blocked some efforts by the administration to withhold money from sanctuary cities, including an executive order issued by the president in 2017 that would have barred them from receiving federal grants “except as deemed necessary for law enforcement purposes.”
Courts also barred the Justice Department from imposing new immigration enforcement-related conditions on Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grants, the biggest source of federal funding to state and local jurisdictions.
The ruling Friday by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, in Seattle, concerned a different program, Community Oriented Policing Services, or COPS, grants, which are used to hire police officers. Previously, the Justice Department had given extra points to cities that agreed to hire veterans; that operated early intervention systems to identify officers with personal issues; or that had suffered school shootings.
In 2017, under the attorney general then, Jeff Sessions, the Justice Department for the first time decided extra points would go to cities that listed immigration enforcement as a priority or that certified they would cooperate with federal immigration authorities by allowing them access to detainees in city jails and giving them 48 hours’ notice before an undocumented immigrant was released from custody.
Los Angeles applied for a grant that year, but declined to list immigration enforcement as a priority — it listed building community trust instead — or to make the certification. It failed to win the grant and sued.
The Justice Department had introduced conditions that impermissibly coerced grant applicants to enforce federal immigration law, the city said. It also said that the immigration-related conditions were contrary to the goals for which Congress had approved the grant money: to get more police officers on the beat, developing trust with the public.
The judges in the majority Friday, Sandra Ikuta and Jay Bybee, both appointed by former President George W. Bush, a Republican, rejected that argument.
“Cooperation relating to enforcement of federal immigration law is in pursuit of the general welfare, and meets the low bar of being germane to the federal interest in providing the funding to ‘address crime and disorder problems, and otherwise ... enhance public safety,’” Judge Ikuta wrote.
Several other jurisdictions did win funding without agreeing to the Justice Department’s immigration enforcement preferences, she noted.
Judge Kim Wardlaw, appointed by former President Bill Clinton, a Democrat, dissented, calling the majority’s opinion “Orwellian” in the way it tried to equate federal immigration enforcement with enhanced community policing.
“Nothing in the congressional record nor the Act itself remotely mentions immigration or immigration enforcement as a goal,” she wrote. “In the quarter-century of the Act’s existence, Congress has not once denoted civil immigration enforcement as a proper purpose for COPS grants.”
The Los Angeles city attorney’s office did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment Friday.
Supporters of sanctuary cities say that encouraging local police departments to participate in federal immigration enforcement is counterproductive: People will be less likely to report crimes if they believe they will be deported for doing so.
But the Ninth Circuit’s opinion found that to be a question of policy, not law, said David Levine, a professor at University of California Hastings College of the Law.
“What the Justice Department was doing before, they were trying to force sanctuary cities to do things, and yank money from them retroactively if they didn’t,” Mr. Levine said. “They’ve gotten a little more sophisticated now. They’re saying, ‘You don’t have to take this money, but if you want it, it comes with strings attached.’
“That’s a well-understood way the federal government gets states to do things,” he added. “You don’t use a stick, you use a carrot.”

Which has been purged from Google and I can't find on any "news" sites now. It happened in CA 2006 as the state started moving hard left just before Obama and Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown II. And we all know what gun laws CA has had signed since.
I don't believe they were stupid enough to do this again in CA. Raise foreign flags, disarm Americans, destroy middle class communities... all at the same time.
Polis has now condemned this with a big "BUT" to criticize Trump on the policies/situation that he (Polis) implemented while in Congress.
Our flag has been defaced and a foreign flag has been raised over my city. At what point is it time for a well-regulated militia to take up arms and defend our sovereignty? It appears that a significant faction of our government leadership is ok with a slow but steady invasion. And the invaders along with traitors from America appear to be making a stand and declaring victory by raising a foreign flag. How far do we the people allow this to go? It seems that this was a test to see what they can get away with without consequence. Isn't it ironic that "Red Dawn" was about Colorado!

Here's the thing that bothers me about the leftists complaining about "family separation". The policy isn't to separate "families" its to protect children that may OR MAY NOT be traveling with family members. That may or may not be the victims of child sex trafficking. Do they really believe that when people are arrested their children should join them in jail with all the criminals?
But hey, Polis is a homo so I'm sure on some level he loves child rape because it ultimately means more Democrat voters and more homosexual partners for him when they grow up (many gays are gay because they were molested as children).

The whole thing is a mess. And it is a humanitarian crisis but also a manufactured one by creating incentives and blocking enforcement of our laws. This is the Left: Crisis > Solution.
One of the common things you'll see in this "debate" is that the Dems won't offer any alternatives. Because there really aren't any that their voters will accept. Open borders is too far, throwing them on the street won't work, and "judge in Hawaii" refuses to allow deportations pending hearings. Then the Dem pols go the facilities and act like they are concentration camps when everyone there is trying to game the system with their help!
The anger from the Right really isn't even directed at the illegals any more, it's at the Dem pols who we all know did this.

This "humanitarian" crisis is a manufactured lie like everything democrats do and believe. Illegals caught here in this country probably live better in an ICE detention facility than they did in the country they left. But you're not going to hear anything like that from the Propaganda Directorate of the Democrat Party (aka: the media). Part of the narrative is these people are suffering some sort of horrible wrong. The only thing they're suffering from is an overwhelmed system, made worse by their very presence, and doomed to failure because of leftist stupidity and dishonesty.
I do get the part where people want to come here for a better life and that's the case with many, or maybe even most, of them. But there's a process and not everyone is going to be allowed to enter the process legally. Others are taking advantage of a political opportunity orchestrated by the left and wholeheartedly supported by the democrat party.
The "separating families" bullshit is the biggest part of the lie. Except for maybe when mindless idiots compare ICE facilities to Nazi concentration camps. I can't even imagine how uninformed, uneducated and ignorant someone would have to be to believe that.

it's sad and troubling that the democratic party thinks being unamerican is ok and that standing up for America is racist. I don't see a good end to this since their position is winning elections all over the country.

Hypocrisy has never been a problem for the Dems. The policies they're railing against were there with the Obama Admin, but only became a problem after 'Trump stole the election'.
I wish that all the people that hate this country so bad would pick up and leave. Go where ever it is that is so much like they want, and STOP trying to make this country into what ever or where ever it is that seems to be utopia to them.
Had to laugh while watching local news last night. They showed a graph that showed numbers of people deported for the past several years. When they pointed out that there are actually fewer in the last couple of years then the years prior, the reporter said something like this, Trump's "predecessor" actually deported many more than what Trump has been deporting. Yip, can't blame it on Obama!!! It was Trump's "predecessor."

Northam, a Democrat, said the allegations were disturbing and directed the state?s secretary of public safety and homeland security and the Department of Juvenile Justice to report back to him ?to ensure the safety of every child being held there.?
Children as young as 14 said the guards there stripped them of their clothes and strapped them to chairs with bags placed over their heads.
Trump = Hitler
In court filings, lawyers for the detention facility have denied all the allegations of physical abuse. The incidents described in the lawsuit occurred from 2015 to 2018, during both the Obama and Trump administrations.
Oops.
This will be memory holed along with the photos Dems used of "kids in cages" taken during the Obama years.
Of course no one in media ever asks where the parents are and why ~30% of children have no DNA relation to the adults with whom they cross. This is all Trump's fault and part of his plan to kill brown people. By attracting them. Yup.

The problem with legal immigration is that it doesn't offer the scale/speed necessary for citizen replacement. Orderly immigration with assimilation increases odds of success (economic mobility) and can result in successive generations being patriots, loving the country. This is poison for Dems who want to use these people as a political/economic weapon against mostly middle class Americans who don't vote for them.
It's no accident that socialism with open borders are being promoted at the same time. Even if you're a true believer, this is impossible.

Those fools have swallowed the entire cup of liberal BS kool-aid. Too bad they haven't take the time to educate themselves on actual facts.
Outside of "protesting" outside of a detention facility, I don't believe any of them have ever in their lives done anything for anyone except themselves (and I question how much they've even done for themselves betting, instead, that they've been given almost everything). They have no idea of the concepts of self-sacrifice, or public service. They have no idea of the necessity of the military. They neither understand nor appreciate the sacrifices others have made for them. Sadly, I believe that they are a minor representation of a huge and growing portion of our nation with the same ignorant beliefs. I believe that this nation is already dead - we're just on life support so our organs can be harvested.
