Gambled on a cheap used minivan and lost. About an hour into driving my shifting got super rough and the CEL and TCS light came on. Unfortunately this is a known potential issue on the 01 Odyssey and is generally bad news, but I'd like to have it checked out before I sell it as a parts car. I'm in Denver near Wash Park and work downtown, so closer to those two spots is best. Never owned a Honda and the only mechanics I've used were ford or subaru specialized so need some recommendations if anybody knows a good shop out here.

I have heard things about gaylords garage, they only work on Honda/Acura and are in lakewood kinda by casa bonita. I do the bulk of my own work but I will be taking my Crv into them shortly for a few things.

Gaylord's is about the best Honda shop in the state. Good folks, family operation. I have used them and know people that are firends of the family for over 20 years. Scott Gaylord also raced Nascar for many, many years!

I have another Honda guy near you that that cant be beat on price, is super nice, very honest and only works on Honda (20+ years). For common Honda issues (CV joint, timing belts, etc) he is the best and kills on price. For major stuff like transmission, he will send you other places. PM me if you want his info.

I asked my old Honda guy (Ghandi), but he's out of that game now and doesn't keep up with who's good. Sounds like Gaylords is getting a strong recommendation.

I've had really good experiences with Pro Import Auto over the past few years.

I have a coworker with that exact same model year mini van.......... two transmissions and $4000 later it's back to "normal". From his research the transmissions on those things are notoriously bad.
