I would prefer the ability to secure my rifle in the bag with straps as seen in the top bag in the picture below (relocate straps where I want them) but it would seem most have some version of the securing straps and pockets in the bottom portion of the picture.
Does the securing method and straps in the bottom setup keep the rifle secured enough within the bag to not flop around especially if you are using a double rifle bag. I will probably buy one of the voodoo tactical bags but if I can find a quality case with the ability to strap the rifle securely where I want it within the case I would like to look at that manufacturers offerings........

Anyone know of a quality soft rifle case manufacturer that utilizes the top method. Top case is from SERT and bottom is Voodoo Tactical... EDIT to add I know SERT offers this feature set but know nothing of their quality, are there any other manufacturers?

I used to have a bag like the lower one. Those type of straps didn't do a great job holding the gun place, just would keep it from falling out. If possible, with a case like that, move the straps so you can tightly pinch the velcro around a more narrow area, such as the barrel and buffer tube. That allowed for it to be more secure in those type.

My MidwayUSA 3 gun bag allows you to move the straps around on a molle matrix to suit your needs.

My soft case looks like the one in the bottom picture. I don?t have any issues with mine. It?s ridden fifty miles of dirt roads in the bed of my truck on several occasions. Its not like the rifle can go anywhere when the case is zipped shut and the case is sufficiently padded that damage is a non issue.

I have a Galati Gear case like the top one. Well built and good features. Doesn't scream "gun inside" like some others.

I have both types in the OPs photo.. the top (green) bag is what I prefer though it seems hard to find any like that these days. I have a Galati bag that is sold as a two rifle bag though with the strapping system inside I can actually get 4 AKs in it with them secure and not touching.

The bottom bag in the photo is good for a single rifle and thats about it.

I have a double bag rigged like pic 2. While the velcro straps are not ideal, I've never had any issues with damage, even when I've got the three outer pockets stuffed to the gills.
The double does have a full size padded divider. Even a "discreet" inner pocket behind the three outer for a pistol.
Has worked well for me. Mine is a Drago, but I'm pretty sure they come out of the same handful of factories. I didnt see any significant increase in quality/construction in the (longer) voodoo double bag I had briefly.

Just my 2 cents and personal experience.
