What do you guys like? I shot a pal's PDW last week at CRC. I'm effing hooked. Going to use my taxed SBR lower to build it. So- to those of you that have them, various brands- what's the best? I have an extra high end BCG and CH, so don't need to pay for that. Just asking!!

I have a slightly different version of this PSA upper and really love it.

Even if PSA isn't your thing here's WHY I like it. 10.5 inch barrel with the flash can to point all the gas away from you. With a shorter setup my hands run really close to the end and I know a flash hider or muzzle brake would burn me and throw a lot of fire.

The 12" hand guard goes around the whole thing so I can ride my hand out comfortably. I also like that the top rail is longer and has been the perfect mounting point for a light.

I used to be one of those people who didn't really see the point in going for a sub 16" AR until I got my hands on one. This thing is great to shoot. Accurate enough to at least 500 yards. It's very maneuverable and feels great in hand. It's not only my primary home-defense rifle but has become the favorite to shoot by me and a couple other people I shoot with.

I have a DD 10.3 MK18 and a BCM 11.5

If I had to choose, I think I would go with the BCM.

I have had a 10.5 Radical Arms 5.56 and a 8.5 Radical Arms in 300BLK

am looking to build a 12 in 6.5 Grendel next

I have a DD MK18 upper, one of the last ones they made for the civilian market in FDE before they all went to the Gov't contract. It's heavier than I like, I'm prob going to sell it. I am waiting for the end of bidding on a GB item from KMTactical, it's a lightweight basic 10.5 barreled upper.

I'm going to make it slim, light and very basic. I'm digging the Holosun Solar red dots. No irons mebbe?

I have a PSA 10.5" and I have a buddy with an 18" barrel that is lighter, drives me crazy.

I have a buddy that showed me a shake awake holosun red dot (I think it was green though) that was pretty dang cool.

I went with a 7.5" with a flash can and an odin works K mod rail in my PDW style SBR build. Very light setup.

My 11.5" is just a complete colt commando upper with KAC drop in rail. It's not really designed to be light, just wanted something basic that was similar to the early Mk18, but with a bit more barrel length.

How are the flash cans? What muzzle brakes or non nfa brakes work?

Noveske flaming pig (I think they were the first or one of them) and all the ones that have been modeled after it, like the KAK flash can, work well to reduce the obnoxious factor to those on the firing line and yourself.

Look at PWS , primary weapon systems.

I run one of these on a X39 carbine Really makes a difference for follow up shots and overall recoil. Unfortunately they no longer offer one in the 5/8 - 24 tpi.
