It's not just Boulder.

Forging Peace. Disarming Hearts.
We do more than turn guns into garden tools. We are turning violence into peace. We are turning fear into trust. Through relationship, dialogue, and resources, we are welcoming neighbors with loving arms rather than bearing arms. Join us.
Do they follow the UBC requirements?
Someone should buy a shovel from them and use it to make an AK receiver.
Also, I think the local organizer for Shannon Watts' organization is affiliated with them as well.

I looked over the website & two things came to mind. Its nice that these folks have something close to their hearts that they can put their energy towards & the other was this antithetical cartoon.
There are proven ways (as done by and published by who I assume are liberals) to reduce crime in historically high crime areas, that have nothing to do with guns or gun legislation and are far more effective than any anti-gun campaign. But that sprays to have fallen on deaf ears.

Those that beat their swords into plowshares shall plow for those that did not.

I wonder if they check the serial number to see if what they are destroying was reported stolen?

Maybe you should send them a politely worded email explaining this to them.

Perhaps in the form of several paper targets that I've painstakingly shoot the message into?
The work looks really shitty. I regularly see much better craftsmanship these days from weekend hobbyists on various websites.
I'm sure Boulder Moms are lining up to pay $30 + shipping for a small chunk of metal from a shotgun thinking they are saving the world.
You guys are discounting the possibility that it's actually a pro-gun nut that runs the website, selling chinese crap garden tools at a 5000% markup, all while getting free guns (many historical) from namby pambies. I think I need to start one over here. Only problem is, not many Namby-Pambies in Montrose....
Wonder if they have an FFL or it's an illegal transfer when you donate a gun?

Damn good question!
Under the donate a gun it seems like they want it chopped up already and if you cant do it they have a "network" of people that can.
Btw look at the ar15 shirt......think we have a new logo? [Coffee]

Look to be mainly mennonites and a few SJW types.
Mennonites have pacifism as a tenet of belief. It’s incorrect, but they believe it nonetheless.

I reckon there are enough to make it worth a try... Think Crested Butte and Telluride... Not to mention the ongoing gentrification of GJ.
I looked at the website. I'm beyond caring what other people do with their guns. Who could possibly care about this? If people want to make stupid expensive garden tools good for them. It doesn't affect me in the slightest.

Yes, Julie's husband is the treasurer for this group of wackaloons.

That Garden Mattox they offer looks like it's make a great melee weap.... er, garden tool
Ugh. Clicked the link and now I feel dirty and ashamed.
I just had to check out that mattock.
Quite the tool for gardening. If you?re gardening zombies.

You got me thinking... If someone could build a firearm from some of those crappy shovels, created a website, and demo'd it firing, I imaging that person could trigger some feels.
It would also demonstrate that metal is metal and gun control is futile.

Yuk.
I remember seeing this sculpture every time I went to court or police HQ in Washington DC. At the time it seemed to be a better use for metal than becoming Personhole/Maintenance holes (manhole for us old people).
I see that the sculpture has finally found it's way to a Mennonite college. Seems a fitting place.

I've been short selling plowshares since the early 90's.
