I wonder how many of those people who were injured are now going to be filing disability claims with the US Government for PTSD.

Run sheep, run.
Two legs Ba-a-a-a-a-d....
I want to laugh and think I could tell the difference between a rapid backfire and gunshots, BUT given the context of the situation, I might not be able to. I'd have zero shame in running away from potential danger. You might not be wrong, but the price to pay if you are is pretty steep.
Oh the fun that could be had...

Pavlovian response.
The programming is proceeding as anticipated.
Let's not pretend that running from danger is not hardwired into our biology. We can all pretend that the reason we even exist as a species is because we're all fearless badasses, but...it's not.
I know I wouldn't run for fear of gunfire...not because of cajones but because I've been desensitized to background gunfire. I'd probably be oblivious to why people were running from an actual "active shooter" and think I farted or something.

if i saw hundreds of people running, i'd run too. 10x more if I'm with my wife and kids. Explain to me how that makes me a coward or fool.

I'd run, too. And then try to figure out WTF I was doing in NYC.
I'd run too, just so I wouldn't get run over by all the others running.

No one here would hit the deck instead? (in a safe place as to not get trampled)
There is a video of the people running in Ohio and one guy pushes his wife to the ground, lays over her and scoots off against a concrete planter to take cover...

I would call in an air strike.
It's the only way to be sure..

Or trolls ;) I've gotta poke buttons just a little bit sometimes. Of course everybody runs when a herd of wildebeest is charging at you. Save one exception, and one exception only:

I would call in an air strike.
I'm a big fan of the idea...but I hope it wouldn't balloon into something much more serious.
I used to have an old Chevelle with a 396 4/speed and glasspacks. I could turn the key off and back on while driving, and that sucker'd backfire like two 12 guage shotguns going off. Had a few chuckles with it!

When I was young and working construction we had a total POS '68 pickup (Dodge, I think) and you could flutter the gas pettle just right for second or two, then hit it hard and it would backfire like a son of a bitch. We had a lot of fun with that.

Back in the 80's with the air pump/gulp valve bullshit and all that.... if you accelerated real hard and then just shut the key off and turn it back on...….you could almost blow the muffler and tailpipe off the vehicle. Three foot flames out the tip and all that.
We had some fun with that as well. Good times.

Wait a minute.... "Inhale don't exhale... that's just an expression".
