After consistently failing to be available for years, the McDonalds soft serve ice cream machine located at the restaurant northwest of Arapahoe Road and I25 was permanently made unavailable by the unexpected rebuilding of the facility. Witnesses report that there was a McDonald?s location there one day, and then it was torn down and gone the next. The new facility is expected to be completed by Fall of 2019, possibly with a new machine.

Every day thousands of people buy ice cream cones for McDonald's in Denver ...
But for the poor people that go to Arapahoe and I-25 they haven't been able to buy ice cream for years....
Many poor children in this area go for their whole lifetime without ever having tried a proper McDonald's ice cream....
But for only 14 cents per day you can make a difference.....

Speaking of McDonald's, I know they catch a lot of flack for crappy incompetent employees, and terrible customer service, but I have to give a shout out to the one on Kipling near Belleview. I have been going to that one for coffee on my way to work Saturday's and Sunday's, and those employee's are much more akin to Chic-fil-a employee's than any other McDonald's I've been to, very friendly and at least act like they give a crap, and if they have to park you to wait for your order, you get a coupon for a free dessert Item. Not too shabby.

Wait... so you're saying there are coupons?
My McDonalds is lame. Not one, not ever.
I go to Good Times for my milkshakes now. Far superior.

I'm glad the one near me recently put in the self order/pay screens so I don't have to deal with the I hate my job employees !!!
At least ice cream isn't McD's primary business.
We tried to go to a Dairy Queen about a month ago and their machines were down. Two employees, one manager, no one could figure it out. Line was out the door from people waiting and they were telling folks there was nothing they could do.
When all you do is sell ice cream, you need to be able to make ice cream!
Why would people stand in line if the machines were down?
But for only 14 cents per day you can make a difference.....

Yeah, little business card type thing, with the Managers name on it, specifically stating something along the lines of "we're sorry you had to wait, have a free dessert on us". I'll snap a pic if I can find it.
Why would people stand in line if the machines were down?
They started saying "five minutes."
Then 10
Then 15
Then told everyone to leave.
I don't think there's any ice cream machine crisis training in the new hire process.
ETA: After my first post in this thread, I was served a targeted Dairy Queen ad in Twitter. Never seen one before now. How does it know what I've typed in another browser session? Not even using the same browser!
Creepy.

Closest Chic-fil-a is in Grand Junction. I hate going there. Not a chicken guy to begin with, but people dutifully line up in that drive through like it's the parkway to heaven itself, to ridiculous extent. MARTHA ITS JUST FAST FOOD, stop acting like you dug a well in Africa. I'm not sure why someone hasn't built a second one over here, as it would be profitable.

What I like about McDonalds:
1. Bacon, egg & cheese biscuit in the morning.
2. Their fries.
3. On long road trips they're easy to spot from the interstate (usually) and I at least know what to expect. 2 cheeseburger meal is very eat-while-I'm-driving friendly. One for me and usually one for whatever dog(s) I happen to have with me.
4. Yeah...coffee isn't bad for store bought. Also comforting on long road trips.
That's about it.
Sorry to hear about the ice cream machine. I'll keep it in my prayers.

This is pretty much my "use" for McDonald's as well, I don't eat much fast food to begin with, but McD's and road trips pretty much go together for us.

Website Moderator Doesn't Understand Why People Keep Posting Things About Their Lives
Colorado - A local website moderator has grown concerned that members continue to post mundane stories about their lives instead of conspiracy theories and pictures of scantily clad women. "What kind of boring people are these?" he was heard asking in moderator's meeting Monday.
The newer posts leave the moderator with a lot more time for other hobbies but longing for the days of arguing over abortion and religion. He anxiously awaits the next marijuana post and wants to drop hints but is afraid. "I can't tell them to get too edgy or it will look contrived when I come down on them. A ban would really shake things up but no one even call someone a 'retard' or 'dickface.'"

The nearest McDonalds' and the nearest Burger King have an ongoing contest on which can be most incompetent. The Burger King is in the lead. They seem to trade off in which of them has the broken shake machine that day.

That location has a horrible parking/drive-thru arrangement. Those are the only good things I can think of at the moment.

I haven't been to a McDonald's in like 7 or 8 years. The last time I went to a drive up the woman manning the drive up mic didn't speak english and I don't speak spanish. Haven't been back there since.

Thanks, but in the end, I was the played. [LOL]
I like my title though! I'm going to have to think of a backstory that impresses any newbies.
Arby's in Broomfield. Twice family has been in there to find they are out of roast beef. How incompetent does the management have to be to allow their business to run out of its main ingredient?
Thanks, but in the end, I was the played. [LOL]

I don't think what mcdonlads serves is legally called ice cream.
This entire thread reads like an inside joke that I'm not in on.
Closest Chic-fil-a is in Grand Junction. I hate going there. Even when the lines are really long at Chic-fil-A, they're still faster than any other drive through, even ones that only have one or two cars in line. They've really got the whole system for high throughput nailed down.
On top of that, the food is generally higher quality than other drive through places, the service is friendly, and they don't nickel and dime you to death on stuff like ketchup packets.
...and they must put a drug in their food that I'm immune to. I just don't get the craze for Chic-fil-A.
If we do drive-thru chicken, it's usually Raising Cane's.
Personally, I think the food's good, and it's certainly better than most other chains, e.g. McDonalds, Wendy's, Taco Bell, etc. I'd describe their food as maybe a quarter step below a fast casual joint like Chipotle or QDoba.
It's also nice that they're one of the few corporations that doesn't feel the need to virtue signal about how woke they are, too.
I like that they're not bowing to the current cultural pressures, but I'm not going to support them by buying a product that I wouldn't buy anyway.
...but I also don't understand why people like Krispy Kreme donuts either. They must use the same drug as Chic-fil-A. [Coffee]

Are you aware that "the ice cream machine is broken" is code for we didn't turn it on this shift because it is a pain to clean- usually manager's decision.
Ask any past employee and they will confirm this.
Some McDonalds haven't turned on their ice cream machines in years!
Once people keep getting turned down they no longer ask for it and they never need to turn it on.
Other locations are known for the machine working and get a following.

My wife and I made the grave mistake of ordering chicken at a Chesters in the Loves fuel stop in north Pueblo on our way through to the lake.
Ate half a piece and could not do it. Grossest and blandest crap ever. Should have stuck with a Subway sandwich.

Breaking news update: the McDonald’s location has been resuscitated. Local citizens report an updated layout, but the ice cream machine’s status remains unknown at this time.

I'm pretty sure the "shake machine/ice cream machine is broken" routine typically means the 3rd shift employees are too lazy to clean it, so f#&k you, paying customer!
