View Full Version : How do you use Colorado's public lands?

Got a survey from Cory Gardner today and answered it because it was a chance to insert "shooting" as a public land activity. Need to show the anti-gun yahoos that public lands aren't just for tree-hugging and mountain biking ...

How do you feel about the new head of the BLM that is a very strong advocate for selling all of America's public lands?

I'm guessing "hiding bodies" wouldn't be an appropriate response.

Responded. I'm honestly distressed that hunting isn't even on the list.

Good luck to him! There's just so much of it!

I doubt he can/could sell 1% of it. Maybe he could give it away...

They have so many different types of public lands, and rules and regulations for what can and cannot be done, on public lands, that tree hugging is one of the only safe responses. ;)

If public lands means state trust, there?s hardly any hunting allowed on it. Most hunting land is BLM and NF, isn?t it?

Almost all the hunting I've done is on State Trust Lands. In fact, you can't even access State Trust Lands unless you're doing some wildlife related (hunting) activity. The place I hunt is closed from like May till September every year, or else I'd take my family camping there.

You guys do realize, I hope, that no one will every read that survey. It is simply a way to collect emails for a mailing list.

The only real way to effect change is to grease the hand of your local party member.

Then you’re hunting on some portion of 16% that’s actually allowed to be so.

Since i was given the survey link BY email, it would be pointless to use it to collect my email address. Your hypothesis is the reverse of when base network admin cut off my email access and when I called to ask what was going on, said they emailed me to let me know ...

Well, I'm both passed, and irritated. I think the guys at OnX are trying to address this issue as they try to open up public lands all over the country that should be huntable, but aren't.

I don't know what base network admin is so I have no idea what you're talking about.

By giving your email and phone number to any nonsense like this, they will use that information to solicit campaign funds at the least.

When you interact with us or use VP Services, Targeted Victory may collect information about you, including ?personal information.? ?Personal information? means information about you that specifically identifies you or, when combined with other information we have, can be used to identify you.

As you navigate through and interact with VP Services, we and our service providers may use automatic data collection technologies to collect non-personally identifiable information that is generated automatically while you using the VP Services, other websites, mobile websites and/or mobile applications or elsewhere on the Internet in order to provide content and advertisements about goods and services of interest to you across those various devices.

Submitting your e-mail address anywhere via the VP Services will result in your e-mail address being added to the Targeted Victory e-mail list as well as the Campaign?s e-mail list.

Your admin may help you from this invasive junk, but anyone filling out the survey will get a lot of solicitations.

Me too, so I put it in the box. That is a very big common use of the public land in CO

The STL that the DOW ?leases? you can hunt on. But most of them are not able to be hunted. And some are just like BLM where they are almost impossible to access because they are locked in private land.

My email is babyilove@guns.com and my phone number is 3035551212.

I'm 100% certain this "survey" means fuck all.

To repeat, the campaign already has my email, they sent me the link via email. They also have my phone number already so no, they don't need this survey to garner emails and phone numbers from people that they already had info on.

The admin I was referring to was a prior incident -- as I said, your hypothesis is the reverse, using my email address to send me a link to gather my email address (as opposed to the numbskull sending me an email to tell me that my email was getting cut off). I'm a big privacy advocate myself but you're just not thinking things through when you assert things like this.

So you took the survey, checked the "other" box and wrote in, "I ride the bus to vote for Republicans!"?
