I was out harvesting firewood on Sunday with my brother in law. We had his daughter and my son with us, both of which are a few months older than two. It was HOT out there, so they periodically sat in the vehicles to get out of the sun and cool down. At some point they decided to put all of my loose change in the truck's CD player. They sure were happy about it!
I haven't gotten it all out yet, so I don't know if it will be salvageable.

What's a "CD Player" ?
What's a "CD Player" ?
A dude that plays the field with all different kinds of certificates of deposit. They like to think of themselves a "diversified", but I think of them as short-term-savings-whores.

My niece put pennies in the little dispenser in the back seat of my in-laws minivan.
You might know that little coin dispenser as a cigarette outlet.
And yes, when they turned on the van, it shorted the whole vans wiring harness, fried everything. For whatever reason, there wasn't a fuse on that outlet.

Upon reading the OP I was thinking to myself, "what a perfect time to join us in 2019 with a Bluetooth capable stereo ".

There was something jammed into the cig lighter / Aux 12 volt port on the 1993 Explorer I bought earlier this year. It had arced and blown the big fuse for it. I pulled out the offending piece of metal and think it is one of the good luck charms, traveling saint /angel or something. I got lucky and replacing the fuse was all I needed to do to get a 12V aux power supply for my phone.

My wife wishes I would buy a vehicle that isn't old enough to drink...I'm not sure I'm ready for that.
Seriously though, I was considering putting in a new stereo but the one in there isn't even 10 years old yet!
My new truck came with all kinds of tech (12" infotainment system, 9 USB ports, 2 110v outlets)....and a CD Player. It's kind of a running joke on the Ram forum.
By the way, I think the change will be salvageable.
Sold my '89 Toyota PU to a dad buying it for his son a couple months ago. Think the kid sort of understood the 10 CD changer behind the seat. Pretty sure he had no clue the discussion about the cassette player in the dash...might as well have been a dial phone.
I once pulled a radio out of a vehicle and pulled over $8 worth of change out of it.
While the cigarette lighter socket (or I guess it?s just a 12V receptacle these days) is probably the preferred place for kids to stash coins I prefer the more creative places like the seat belt buckles or behind the airbag on the steering wheel.
I had Bluetooth system installed in my car last year and it has a CD player. Never used it though.
The CD player in my van likes to hold onto CDs, so I stopped using it. If I were smart, I'd keep my insurance and registration in there.

And my spouse said i needed to sell the jeep. Why what's wrong with it? There's no button to press to move the windows up and own [ROFL3] I finally replaced the factory Jeep branded (harmon audio) cassette player with a blue tooth from pioneer. But i made sure it had a cd player.
This is a pretty well performing Bluetooth adapter if you’d like the capability but don’t want to upgrade your car’s head unit. Sometimes they’re on sale for about $13

How does it talk to the radio though?
It broadcasts an fm signal. It’s actually a pretty strong signal and I’ve never had an issue with interference from a station while in Denver.
Ahh, of course, just like before there were headphone jacks in radios.
So the folks driving near you can listen to the same FM signal. Sharing is caring.

That?s actually pretty helpful. I had one years ago that was total garbage. It?s worth looking at for my purposes.

Every similar product I’ve tried in the past was trash and probably cost at least twice as much.
Not knowing the difference between push button radio selectors, AMC/Rambler push button transmission selectors and coin op table jukeboxes I have done the coin dispensing crime.

I used to have a 5 disc dvd changer with speakers and a subwoofer hooked up to the tv. Thought the sub went bad and quit using it when watching dvd's on the system. Found out years later when I was packing the system up that my daughter's had been stashing plastic food from their kid's kitchen inside the oh-so-handy hole in the back of the sub. Laughed my butt off.
Some kids have a fascination with the toilet. Then you have keys, remotes, toys, clothing, etc. that get flushed. I can imagine some expensive plumbing bills related to that.
My youngest who is 4 is extremely responsible in checking the chickens multiple times a day for eggs.
Then one day he decided they need to go in his water table so he could cook them outside. 36 eggs later.....
My middle one(2) is obsessed with trash cans. If we are on a walk, he has to stop, look at and requests to look in, and definitely touch, every.single.trashcan.
Can’t find him? Look where we keep the trash can. Etc.
I think I might get him a small wastebasket for a gift.
Sounds like he could make a career out of being a homeless person.
