There was a long read about a bunch of crap that the Longmont City Council is looking for on the anti-2A front.

Yeah, there's a meeting tonight, and the vote is next week.
This is pretty radical. Makes me ashamed to live here.
I'll be there next week. Can't make it tonight.
If this passes, I am just going to expedite turning this house into a rental and going elsewhere...

Colorado as a state won't be far behind, wait till the leftist have a super majority after elections. Next spring we will be relocating to Idaho. If you can't see CO is a lost cause you are blind or stupid.
I'm waiting for someone to jump in and tell us the answer isn't to leave, but to stay and vote the libs out.

I wish this was an option but I'm afraid they will never be voted out they have a death grip on this state, just like all the other liberal states. Liberals/ leftist are a cancer to our nation.
I agree. The tipping point has been reached. It's all downhill from here.

That was Tim Water resolutions to start with. He is preening because he ran unopposed, and proposed these resolutions after the filing deadline to run against him. Brave men, eh? Sadly I did not know there was a deadline to file otherwise it would be Erni for office. Still mad.

Is there a place with video of that quote? I'm not seeing it in the linked article. I think it'd be incredibly important to share.
Edit: If so, probably in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbUKTjsxlRU , not sure where though and don't want to have to wade through 12 hours.

Longmont City Council to Vote on Extreme Gun Control Resolution
On Tuesday, September 10, the Longmont City Council is scheduled to vote on an extreme gun control resolution. Please contact members of the Longmont City Council and STRONGLY urge them to OPPOSE this extreme anti-gun resolution.
The resolution calls for:
Requiring state issued permits for gun ownership
?Universal? background checks on all sales, including private transfers of firearms
State issued permits for concealed carry
State issued permits for concealed carry within a vehicle
Banning the personal sale or purchase of ?military grade weapons? by non-military personnel
Limits on magazine capacity
Require gun locks that enable only permitted gun owners to fire a weapon
?Red Flag? laws, giving family members and/or law enforcement the ability to strip an individual of their Second Amendment rights without due process
Not only are some of these laws redundant in Colorado, one requires a locking device with technology that doesn?t actually exist. The resolution reads like a gun control wish list that, if passed, will be sent to your Colorado lawmakers on behalf of Longmont residents. Again, please contact members of the Longmont City Council and STRONGLY urge them to OPPOSE this extreme anti-gun resolution.

Didn't we already try that one? I was gonna leave in 2013 and was convinced we still had a chance to vote them out
Yep. That's why I made the comment. The writing was on the wall, but some folks were making negative comments about those that were choosing to leave.

I have the same question. There isn't a state registry, so does that mean that all guns will be outlawed, or that the law can't be enforced?

How are you guys convinced the AZ is some sort of special 2A bastion? The state just sent Kyrsten Sinema to the Senate in a statewide election. The GOP holds SLIM majorities in both legislative bodies. Give it another two election cycles and you will be the same color as CO.

We had a chance and in fact we DID vote 2 or 3 of them out through recall measures. However, the perfect-is-the-enemy-of-the-good-enough crowd still managed to pull defeat from the jaws of victory by not rallying behind Darryl Glenn against Bennet because Glenn "wasn't conservative enough". We doubled down on that in 2018 by rejecting Walker-Stapleton because of his ties to the Bush family (enabling one of the most extreme activists in Colorado politics to take the governor's seat). I don't know what happened with District 6 but letting the Dems control the keys to the kingdom and run all their corrupt vote-stealing schemes by letting them take the Secretary of State position as well as Attorney General unfortunately sealed things for some time.
The problem is that you can't flee this stuff because they are following. People have to think about this in terms of a campaign (military, not political) and quit relaxing after winning a single battle. The tired "s--- sammich" analogy I keep hearing is just loser talk but unfortunately, the losers are dragging the rest of us down with them. The Dems have taken this state over slowly because they haven't given up and have been willing to keep tossing the same stupid things (or even more extreme leftist ones) out there until the rest of us are exhausted and acquiesce and leftists get redefined as moderates, moderates or even slightly leftist get redefined as conservative, and moderate conservatives are flat-out labeled Nazis and Fascists.
We need to make them lose money in the entertainment industry (like with Ghostbusters 2016) and wrest the legal and indoctrination education systems out of their control. CNN and the New York Times and Washington Post have already made themselves laughing stocks but we need to keep pushing those buttons and point out what they won't.

Well the Sinema deal was due to McSally running a serious negative ad campaign. No substance to her platform. Though i "believe" the fix was in as McCain's seat was coming available after the election, in 1/19. So imo she really didn't try which is sad as no one cares for her. There's a right of center R challenger to her for 20
While Phoenix and Tucson have a centrist voting base. The rest of AZ is red, well there's 1 other cty that leans blue. But it's a different world down here, for now. Open carry does now draw a 911 swat team every 20 minutes.
Every gun store sells nfa items, not just some, but every small 400 sq ft mom 7 pop is stocked. I went to a community police program and was concealed carry. The cops knew and asked that i do not handle it during class.
Now unlike tx where the D's are pushing to move it to a blue majority. We're safe for another decade. I'm involved with the state gun rights group AZCDL who only email you when a bill is proposed or they auction off a gun (every 2-4 months) No 24/7 barrage of RMGO Dudley Brown the british are coming constant emails. The lobbyist here receives a basic stipend for expenses and small (fixed) salary.
Unfortunately No State is safe in the long run. My only up side is being in my mid 60's i'll be out to pasture by the time the real shit happens, or maybe not. Depends what happens in 2020

I've watched enough election returns in this state for the last few cycles to notice that it always seems like the Dems pull out last minute victories.
Guess what?
Those last minute victories aren't the result of people staying home on election day or choosing to vote for the libertarian.

To some extent they are. Bennet got 49.2% of the vote. To the extent that there are shenanigans like Pueblo County storing their vote boxes outside the view of cameras (direct violation of Colorado law BTW) they are only enforced if the Secretary of State and Attorney General, both Dems now, pursue it. There is a reason I talk about non-Socialists rather than Republicans. Non-Socialists still outnumber Socialists in this state but that doesn't matter as long as the Socialists vote in a block and the non-Socialists fragment.
Brother, can you not see that we're wearing the same choir robes?

My Kind of Town, Chicago is.....................
That socialist AG didn't attack his R opponet as much as played on the fears of the pink hat, white mysognist, racist in the white house fears. IIRC his commercials were
When i saw Trump won the election i couldn't sleep, knowing what type of person was in the white house.
With a picture of him up watching t.v in a dark room. Perfect subliminal message, emotions, fear, no ray of light in the distance.
IMO those type ads were similar to the ones against jesse jackson when he ran for office. OR if one goes there. The jews in late 30's germany.
Play upon those fears and you'll always get votes.

Sad very sad. My family has been here since the 1860s. Firearms have always been a big part of every generation. As for me I am digging up the roots and moving the family out of here. It's sad but I got to agree that Colorado is a lost cause. Got to give it to socialist Democrats they certainly laid out everything to attract like minded voters to this state. However I will say this through Colorado will never have the resources of water and Transportation tinfrastructure to obtain or sustain the grandiose dreams of the Democrat Socialist. Scooters and Electric cars and all the other asinine crap wont work here. What is lost on these pukes is that there are cultures and communities beyond the Denver Metro area. Colorado may have a great economy now but it will implode.
