View Full Version : Social credit score to buy a gun?
Drudge linked this from infowars just now:

--ftr: link basically some argument saying trump is considering social credit. Based on the source, probably invented from thin air for clicks.
Pretty disconcerting if true.
The daily caller just picked up the story as well.

Social credit scores are used to modify behavior to an entity's desired outcome. China already uses it. It's already being used here, although not structured by the state.
It doesn't take much of an imagination to figure out how it can undercut every principle this country was founded on.
The subject has been discussed by many, including Rush Limbaugh.

Not going to happen.
I pay some trolls to upgrade my scores.

Ran across this today and it's an interesting take;

I could see this or something like it being implemented with ease at some point. If the past is any guide into the future. All TPTB really need is for society to remain willfully ignorant in the midst of crisis.

I'm gonna be in trouble if we go to this system... Big trouble.

They could probably pass it without a whimper as most people are more concerned with the new name for the stadium and netflix.

I'll say it.
Curious censorship.
In whose hopes of a lower page count?

It no longer seems paranoid to worry about surveillance and facial recognition.
Unfortunately, the article is paywalled. I have yet to see another source about Trump's receptiveness to applying it to who can own firearms, but I'll certainly be looking for one.

I?m pretty sure most of us feel the same way about inforwars, personal feelings aside, there?s a link from the daily caller as well, and other posts current on this forum linking the same article, and probably posts linking other articles from that site as well. ?Probably? seems like a poor excuse for censorship.
To steal a meme from Arfcom on the same subject;
AR-15.CO CONSIDERING INTELLIGENCE SCORE SYSTEM TO DETERMINE WHO CAN POST

I’m about to be excommunicated as soon as I start talking about our Lord and Savior, the Flying Spaghetti Monster
I wouldn't be surprised if some politician picks up on this and tries to run with it.
Remember when Birdman Weapons Systems was running with the Homeboy Nyte-Sytes (https://www.gadgetking.com/2011/08/31/birdman-weapons-systems-homeboy-sights/)? "Allows firing from car widows, over fences, bar counters, or simply while chasing someone through the yard!"
How about a social credit for Congress? It your score drops below 20% you loose your paycheck. If it reaches below 15% you get deported to a socialist country of your choice.

I would rather the IQ test like mentioned above, though they would find some way to cheat the system like the rich college kids

And we'll start their score at 21%.

Oh, man...haven't seen that in ages. Just as funny now as when it was new!
The Richmond City Council got their panties in a twist about the Homeboy Nyte-Sytes and wanted to shut them down. How dare they sell a product that makes shooting gangsta' style more accurate!

How about term limits? That would solve a lot of problems. And create a bunch more but the is no reason for any legislator to be in office for 30 or 40 years.

Good idea in theory. In practice, I believe most politicians spend more time on things like improving scores, social credit or otherwise, than actually doing their job.

So....basically what they're doing now.
