So what are the "best" and "nearest" National Forest shooting spots around Denver Metro that are currently open and not restricted due to fire bans or complaining snowflakes?

I know of the spot on CO 126 south of Buffalo Creek. Is there still one east of Echo Lake?

Thanks!

Don’t know about official “spots” per say but I know that you can ride any forest service road north of Central City throughout Gilpin County and there will be people off the side of the road shooting. Same with a couple of the forest service roads between Ward and Allenspark.

True. I was think more of the "accepted" or "semi-designated" locations that you are typically not directly completing with other recreational users.

No more fire ban. But snowflakes will never go away. Seems like anything east of PeaktoPeak is shut down and the antis will keep expansion of BRC and anything by Lyons tied up in lawsuits. Grim.

Harris Park if it's still open. That's Northeast of Bailey.
