I hadn?t seen this until tonight, when my 6 year old brought to my attention ?I don?t like this commercial, it scares me?, and then the same commercial came on every commercial cycle. I don?t cuss much, but WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK!

Hey man, every person with kids old enough to not be in school, or who doesn't have kids will tell you what a loser you are for being worried about a statistical anomaly.

Keep the people fearful if you want to control them.

Trim the TSA. Hire qualified school protection officers with the money saved. Vote for me, BMB! (SARCASM)

Keep the people fearful if you want to control them.

This is 100% true. But I don't think it really takes away from the commercial at the same time. If anything, it's very powerful marketing.

Add in a brainwashed Swedish teen with over the top emotion and you have yourself an awesome campaign.

I made it very clear to my 6 year old, that bad things can happen, but ultimately, the people making the commercial were intentionally trying to scare him. On a side note, his teacher practices Krav Maga, so there is that.

Great FREE commercial for DOW chemical (DuPont).
Softarmor (Kevlar and Kevlar variants) backpack was sold out.

I can tell you right now that AR500 steel in a backpack is WAY too heavy for elementary schoolers.

They're just not on the right strength training regimen.

Why can't they just home school via the internet? Go to the school every few months to test out? Or is school just a big indoctrination scam to relieve us of our tax dollars? The biggest chunk of my property tax goes to the school board. The current school system should go the way of the payphone.
It is obsolete.

I’m not sure what message it’s trying to get across? I mean without having to look at the organization that produced it.

What is it advertising for? Didn't visit the website, but it seemed they were advertising a place to learn the warning signs your kid might be the next shooter, not advocating gun control.

If they wanted to show the true ratio of school-days (# of K-12 schools x the number of days of schools) with shootings vs school-days without shootings since Columbine, they'd have the 3 minutes and 30 seconds of the active shooter part and another 18 years of video showing kids going to school, hanging out with friends, studying, taking tests, making art and having lunch.

The "warning signs" video was interesting. If they looked for things like a kid reading a gun magazine and looking at gun websites, that could be any number of perfectly normal kids with perfectly normal interests.

When I was in grade school through college I regularly would read gun magazines and I would draw pictures of guns, warbirds, battleships, tanks, etc.. I was on my high school shooting team. I never went apeshit and shot up anyplace. A lot of my friends had the same interests and as far as I know they still do.

Communist infiltration into the education system and drugging our kids and lack of parenting because it takes two incomes to afford the American dream.

In the end, kids do need to know how to spot the possible killer and the parents and authorities need to follow through. There will be some inconvenience to some innocents until the world can make the changes that will bring back the family unit.

Maybe allowing concealed carry in schools?

They forgot the scene where the teacher is a CCW rockstar and shoots the disgruntled active shooter in the face after mentioning his new crimson trace grips. Where the cop rushing in talks about his new holster. Where the prosecutor tells how much money was saved by not having to go to trial and house the scum the rest of their natural life.

Regardless of politic slant, it is clearly intended, in part, to induce excessive fear in young school children (or even pre-school). I have no issue with people whom I disagree with doing heavy advertising, I do have issue with this just as I would an ad trying to induce fear in children of a high probability of getting raped by an old man in a candy van if they play in the front yard (these balloons can double as condoms so I don't get AIDS). Both have similar statistical probabilities, it is up to the parent to teach those lessons as they see fit.... And induce a level of fear they feel is appropriate....or not.

This ad should have been relegated to being titled "banned ad", watched on YouTube

Since Columbine, there have been 104 K-12 students murdered at school by someone with a gun, including gang activity and incidents after hours. That's in 130,000 schools meeting 180 days a year, for 20 years. Since Columbine, there have been: 68,000 K-12 age kids killed in motor vehicle accidents; 381 K-12 age kids drowned in a bathtub; 2,800 K-12 age kids poisoned by medication; 3,767 K-12 age kids killed in a house fire; 2,110 K-12 age kids killed in ATV accidents; 680 K-12 age kids killed by choking on something, including 222 who choked to death on food; 691 K-12 age kids killed while walking on train tracks; 145 K-12 age kids killed while tripping and falling; 273 K-12 age kids killed by excessive exposure to heat or cold; 159 K-12 age kids killed by farm machinery; and according to filicide studies, about 150 K-12 age kids are murdered every year by one of their parents or step-parents.

Just about everything a K-12 age kid comes into contact with is more dangerous than a shooter at school. Data is from CDC WISQARS database. In fact, just getting to and from school has a higher risk than a shooter at school.

The above website represents the source of the commercials. Seems they are getting quite the funding from "donations". I don't watch TV much any more.
