American Furniture Warehouse, Englewood location that is. Went with my older son and his family late yesterday afternoon to look at bunk beds for the boys to make way for baby sister next month. Noticed a few folks in red shirts-sales staff-as we walked in, roughly 5p. Very light customer presence. Asked one of the red shirts where the bunk beds were, he pointed us in the direction and that was all. Found them, looked at the options, there was a salesperson working the area with another family. She offered to get someone to help us.

I was ready to buy if they found a set they wanted. Heard the page over the store requesting assistance in the area. Long story short no one came in the 45 minutes we were in there looking at the different models. Couldn't find another sales person in the store. Now my son has no problem letting folks know his feelings on matters, Army E7 lol, so on our way out he very properly but sternly let the assistant manager standing by the door know his displeasure. As I walked up I heard a litany of excuses; "Wednesday is the slowest day of the week so shortest staff, busy with other customers (where??), you can go online blah blah", seemed like he didn't really care to try to help.

Screw that place, hoping Furniture Row will be a better experience. The sad part is that I saw something I liked to replace my old beat up sleep sofa I need to get out of my family room and replace. Won't go back.

When I first moved to CO in 2000 i went to the store in Broomfield/Westminster. Walked in the door and it smelled like tiger shit which is when I realised that the tigers in their ads were actually in a cage in the store. Looked around briefly, everything was that shit oak or particle board construction and I turned around and left. The only time I've ever been there.

Try Ikea, they have some bunk bed options and priced fairly for what their stuff is.

My experience there is similar to most stores, when I just want to browse and be left alone I get asked if I am finding everything every two minutes by a different employee, when I need an employee there are none around.

AFW is usually better than Furniture Row, but both suck (a good friend of mine is a manager for Furniture Row and he'd likely agree).

Good customer service is really only available at Chick-Fil-A

As it turns out his mother in law has taken care of the bunk beds, communication is not her strong point. The older boy has a newer mattress so now all I need to do is get one for the little guy plus a rail so he doesn’t roll out of bed. Picking everything up tomorrow, I knew there was a reason I got rid of the Tahoe and got a truck!

Which part did you need help with? Just getting someone to take the money?

I build all my own furniture. So instead of waiting 45+ minutes to get helped in AFW, my wife gets to wait six months until I get around to applying stain and sealer.

Ark Tactical and their high pressure sales!!!
My god, I mean, Ok, like they don?t actually pressure you but they put it up on the walls all around for you to see and drool over.....that is the highlight of any trip I make to the Denver area!

And dang near force their products into your hands after just glancing at an item or asking about something.

Here is a recap of my last AFW interaction. First off, I live by the Westminster store.
Wife finds an item she wants. We pay, I expect to grab and go. NOPE. have to go to the Denver warehouse for pickup. I’m like, WTF? they tell us it will be ready at the Denver warehouse for pickup. Ok, whatever. We drive to the Denver warehouse and wait in a line. Get to the counter and am told it will be about an hour and a half till the item is picked and pulled and brought up. I say “ wanna bet? Don’t bother.
Drive back to the Westminster store and get a refund. They suck.

Well we picked up the set his mother in law had, got it assembled in no time. We went to Denver Mattress off C470 to get a new one for the munchkin on the bottom bed. Much different experience, nice guy was ready to help us immediately, gave my son a break for being military/first responder.

AFW could learn a thing or two from DM.
