Military RN recruitment question

Daughter number 2 is intending to become a nurse. She is currently in year 2 of college but is thinking/wondering if the military would train her and award a BSN-RN instead of the traditional path of two more years of school and a BSN-RN at the end of that. Anyone know a recruiter or have personal experience in what becoming a nurse in the military really takes? We?ve googled a little bit and haven?t found the right info. PM me if you want or post up on the topic otherwise. Any info will be greatly appreciated!

She should contact an AMEDD recruiter.

Don?t let her listen to some stupid BS about going in as a medic and further training from there.

Nurses are officers. If whatever she looks into says she will be a simple enlisted soldier, say NO.

I have a friend that is a nurse practitioner in the Air Force at the Lt Colonel level that I am sure would love to answer any questions you have. He is currently stationed at Buckley but has been stationed all over the US and a bit in Europe over the years. He went in to the Air National Guard after high school in 1989 as a flight medic, went to Air Force and got his BSN and has been with them ever since. He is planning on one more assignment so that he can get full Colonel.

The nurses I knew in college were on scholarships to get their degrees THEN become RNs in service. I would take any talk about "training and awarding a BSN/RN at the end" with a 50 pound bag of salt. Preferably with the recruiter carrying said bag. If she's in her second year of college already, she should be a prime candidate to get a 2-year scholarship for her remaining two years and doing OTS boot camp either this summer or immediately upon graduation and before commissioning.

Do not see a recruiter in a strip mall....Nurses are officers and professionals, itz a different path as has been outlined above

Comment from a serving coworker: See if a college has an rotc program and will pay her way. Then its a few years commitment. Also he said go AF, he is Army.

Former co-worker has a wife that was an AF nurse at the rank of Lt. Colonel. Just another data point.

My niece is AF ROTC. Pulled a full boat scholarship for nursing. Goal to be flight nurse. She is hyper focused.
