Same with Cherry Creek. I don't have kids so it doesn't have a direct effect on me, until I have to hire the uneducated lil dopes.

I found most candidates running in my districts for everything all have the same platform. Anti-crime, pro-growth.

Sounds good, but how will you go about making these changes?

Voters have the most influence on the local levels. Your vote is much more important when it is 1 of 1000 than when it is 1 of 365,000,000. But if you do nothing to earn my vote by standing out from your competition, why should I fill the circle by your name?

A woman knocked on my door, soliciting my vote for her candidate. She asked what she can do to get my vote. I said don't take my guns. She laughed and said they don't want my guns. I liked her but then she talked about equality and fair and inequality and I took her pamphlet and said thanks while closing the door.

I told Popcorn to "Don't eat the hippie".

All but one seem to be lefty swamp rats. Andy Jones, maybe the only somewhat conservative candidate.

IMO, school board candidates come in two varieties; teacher's union members supported with union dues, and outsiders with little chance due to low name recognition, short funding, and no PTA parents standing on street corners holding signs for them.

Public education is basically a leftist enterprise regardless of what the local politics of the area is so even supporting conservative board members is somewhat futile (unless you have kids in school and just want to keep the extreme stupidity at bay).

The kind of people I would be excited to vote for would be people who's goal is to dismantle public education and return it to the private sector.

Just filled out my ballot and did a little research on the the school board candidates. Based on their responses in the highlands ranch herald, Jones, Thompson and Nelson seemed to represent the conservative side of the issues. Thompson clearly identifies as a conservative.

From the Douglas County Republican web site -

We have been receiving emails about the school board race. The three Republicans running independently for the Douglas County School Board are:
Andy Jones
Franceen Thompson
Kory Nelson
