We hates them.
Popcorn finally learned that the squirrel is the sworn enemy of all dogs, everywhere.

There is a big tree directly off my deck that allows Pop to monitor their nefarious incursionary tactics.

Being a smart lil purebreed hunting dog, when she sees one of the antagonists, she has a special loud, sharp bark to let me know it's time to grab some hardware and make red mist!

Introducing...

That's right! The Verminator 3000!

Illegal in thirteen states and the District of Columbia, it packs a wallop. The magazine is rather small, but in the past week I have knocked two foes out of the tree.

(Well, they got hit with the water, jumped for a branch and missed, tumbling about eight feet to the ground and scampering up another tree, but I call it a victory!)

Beware furry intruders! The Verminator is on the job!!!

Now, if only we could do something about the bunnies...

You need to get Popcorn a companion...like a JRT. Solve that bunny problem. Probably a few squirrels. The occasional neighbors cat. Ground squirrels. Birds.

I miss having a psycho killing machine running around the property with me.

I had a lab many years ago who would stalk squirrels for an hour sometimes. This was a daily thing, probably with the same squirrel or two. One day the dog took off after the squirrel and must have caught him off guard because she actually caught the squirrel. She stood there for a few seconds with this thing in her mouth, dropped it, the two starred at each for a second then the squirrel ran off. They started again the next day.

Thats funny I had a golden retriever back in the day that would lay down motionless for hours if needed until he became part of the surroundings then when birds or squirrels would get close enough he would pounce on them and catch them. He wouldnt let them go though he would sit there for a while crushing the animal and sucking the juice out, I finally found his "boneyard" had hundreds or bird and squirrel bones haha

Stupid fat squirrel in my backyard that likes to poach my bird seed appears to have a youngster in tow now. I wonder if these guys could be trained to hunt squirrels?

How would you like to go through life known as a rat-eating monkey?

That squirrel obstacle course video was great.

Dang, I was impressed by the versatility and adaptability. Like a Marine.
I guess calling someone squirrelly is not an insult after that video.

I've heard, "Happy wife, happy life."

She already stores them safely for me in her handbag anyway.
