Don't think I'd seen this yet here: https://www.currypilot.com/news_paid/photos-structure-fire-flames-destroy-local-rifle-barrel-plant/article_8ebf3036-f5e7-11e9-bcf4-db31cb53aede.html
Not sure if this affects Noveske barrels as well?

Curry Coastal Pilot.
The Curry Coastal Pilot is a biweekly newspaper published in Brookings, Oregon, United States, since 1946.
It is published on Wednesdays and Saturdays by Country Media, Inc. and has a circulation of 5,223
Wasn't sure where the story originated.
Harbor Fire intern Chief Thomas Sorrentino said as his crew arrived on scene of the plant fire, they immediately went into a defensive firefighting operation.
I wonder if he is the intern or interim Fire Chief.

PacNor only did the SS Noveske barrels. It is also where John Noveske worked before he went on his own.
Bummer deal, the rifles I have barreled with PN barrels were damn good shooters.

Sounds likely that he wont rebuild. He is insured but you are talking about 35 years of accumulated equipment and tools likely hard to replace along with his age.
The problem with precision (true cut rifled barrels) is they are almost all made on old WW2-era rifle cutting machinery. To my knowledge, there's not any source for new tooling that can be had in that specialized market. So when he says "a lifetime" he's not joking - those machines are so exceedingly rare and sought after that he can't just go out and buy another one. There's probably not one on the market to be had even if you were paying 200% of estimated value.
Everything new is generally button rifled / - rammed with dies.
Pac Nor was a button rifled barrel . Yes the original Pratt and Whitney machines are long out of production but there is new tooling available , Bartlien is cut rifled and done on new manufactured machines that was designed in house .
