I picked up a used SD9VE not too long ago. It came with an aftermarket extended slide lock. This aftermarket slide lock protrudes too far and has sharp edges which scratches the thumb of my support hand when shooting it. I want to put the OEM slide lock back in the gun.
I browsed Brownells website looking for the OEM slide lock for SD9VE but none was found. Since the slide lock in the SD9VE looks a lot like Glock's slide lock (thus Glock winning the lawsuit against S&W), can somebody tell me if a Glock slide lock will work in the SD9VE?
Thanks.
Best chance for an answer is to check on the S&Wforum.

I've used Numrich more than once. I would go OEM before I tried to get something to fit from another mfr.

I found an old thread about someone who used an extended Glock slide lock (Lone Wolf brand) in SD9VE successfully. But I did not find any thread about standard Glock slide lock use in SD9VE.
But, I managed to find a Glock 17 and did a quick experiment. I swapped the slide lock between the two pistols. It works! They fit equally well, i.e. the slide lock from SD9VE works in 9mm Glock, and conversely, the Glock factory slide lock also works in the SD9VE.

Actually, this is what I need. But it is out of stock.

OK, so you didn't need a slide lock/stop, you needed the barrel stop/takedown lever. Looks like just about everybody is out of stock on S&W part number 250490000.

The nomenclature got me confused at first. This part for Glock is labeled as "slide lock" by Brownells and other vendors. S&W calls it "barrel lock".
Assemble it an test fire it...what could go wrong?

The locking block should catch everything under recoil, but the top end could launch forward off the frame when the slide closes? I think that's about it.

Like in the movies when a Kung fu guy yanks the slide off of someone?s Beretta.
