Like the title states, what is the comfort and practicality of HK collapsible stocks?

Thinking of an A3 type. Are these considered goofy?

I went unconventional and used a folding buffer tube adapter from Tommybuilt Tactical, so I have folding AND collapsing. Only slight down side is that it raised the cheek weld enough that I couldn't use the irons anymore. Also had to use a slightly higher rail mount for the Micro to get a sight picture from that. On the plus side though, that means I can thumb over C-clamp grip the handguard like I do with an AR.

I dont mind the A3 stock. I thought I wouldnt like it. After a little bit, I dont even notice it.

Kinda like the OEM stock on my MPX. Looks uncomfortable as hell, but in reality, not bad at all.

If the classic look is the most important factor to you, go for the original style collapsible. It is functional/comfortable enough and there is no denying it gives an MP5 that classic look most people want. But if you want a practical stock with cheek weld, get the B&T side folder or stick with the fixed stock. One of my MP5 clones rocks a collapsible because I dig the classic cool look but the other has a B&T. The B&T is a better stock IMHO.

I'm not a big fan of the A3 stock. While it's not terrible I run a Choate folding stock as my preferred folder but really like the factory A2 fixed stock the best. To be fair I like the original fixed stock on my AR's as well, so I am likely in the minority here. I wear glasses so that may have something to do with it.

I have and use the A3 style stock and like it. I think the A2 is also nice but for some reason I never use it.

Any thoughts on the B&T stock?

Take a look at Safety Harbor KES and also the JMAC pic adapter that allows you to run a sig folder or collapsible. You can adjust cheek height by a little bit that way. I have a couple safety harbor braces and several sig folders for my other guns.

Now that I look at the picture more closely I figure I should mention the MP5k will have a very different stock and can't really even mount an A3. If the OP has a K then this is a different conversation completely.

Any thoughts on the B&T stock?

Used to have one on my K. It was comfy and functional, only down side is that it was a little on the short side.
