I'm building an AR-15 slowly and I was wondering your opinions on wooden stocks for an AR-15? I am curious because I have some wood working projects. Just so you ladies and gentlemen know; I have never built a complete gun before. I have disassembled and reassembled many weapons before, and I am excited to continue my AR-15 Build. The cool thing about the AR-15 that I am building is that every part on the gun represents something in my life that happened that is an accomplishment, achievement, or accolade. I really enjoy building an AR-15 slowly because of a variety of reasons:
First, My father gifted me a lower receiver. This receiver is pretty cool because it's a slightly under - mil spec .223 round where the receiver is undersized by about -2% out of 100%
Secondly, I picked up a standard grip that would help me build the gun.
Third, I bought an alloy pour for the milled grip along with a trigger kit [ With an XArmy XNavy Disabled Vet ]
I like where this build is going because the parts mean something to me and every time I get a new component, there's a happy part of me inside knowing the family I create will never die in the Hunger games. I'm 23 By the way! =]
Any input/info/tips would be very helpful! I'm looking forward to your replies to this Article.

As far as the wood, I?m not a fan. Wood just doesn?t belong on an AR platform but that?s just my opinion so don?t let that sway you.
For the first part, although I really don?t know what you mean, if the receiver isn?t made to normal specs I?m guessing you?ll have trouble getting everything assembled since the reason for having specifications in the first place is to have a known standard for parts compatibility.
For the second part, if having a standard pistol grip is reason for building a rifle then I have a box of them I?d give you and you?d have reasons to build a dozen more.
For the third part, I have to admit I have no idea what you?re talking about.
Best of luck with your project and I hope you enjoy the whole process.
Let me help you out ray1970.

Ah. The goat. Now it all makes sense.
Thanks, Irving.
ray1970, it is slightly less than no problem for me to help you out. Plus, it means something to me to help others.

Does anybody have any serious 3 dimensional matrix thought for a custom wooden stock?

Does it have to be made of wood?
I'm a big fan of rustic wood patterns.

I think I saw at least the first two matrix movies. Some of Keanu?s finest work. Well, that and the Bill and Ted movies.
Ya'll give me a freakin headache

My dad hates The Matrix and Keanu Reeves. Why? Well because during one of the Super Bowls with the Broncos playing, the commercial for the original Matrix ran long and when it ended, a play was in progress and the Broncos were already in the end zone and my dad missed the play. Clearly the fault of The Matrix and Keanu Reeves.

As long as it’s a High Vector, you’re good.
Bet this guy knows a thing or two about high vector outputs!

depending whether you go flat top or an original A2 upper would make a difference. Those brownell clones with wood furniture look good.
