Well, today it became official, we will be moving to Tucson Arizona in the very near future, I know I have been talking about it in the past, and made hints about it recently, but prior to today it was just "in the works" and tentative.

Being born and raised in Colorado, this will be a huge change for me (it will be my wife's 4th state of residence), but I'm ready for it, I'm over the cold, and cost of living here, and will be getting a promotion down there. I'm also ready for standard capacity magazines and FTF deals again. I'll definitely be on here still!

I wish you luck, but given recent election results in AZ, I am sure they are not too far behind CO in legislative activism.

I appreciate it, and realize recent elections weren't great, but I don't think they are close to Colorado, and if we are being honest, few places are safe from the plague that is the left. Cost of living and quality of life were more important than politics anyhow, between my job and getting closer to my wife's family (CA), AZ was the best option.

Fortunately, not even close, yet.

Up in CO people mumble about CA transients. Down here they're very vocal about it.

Now if only there were consistently good mexican food places. Asian food? don't even go there.

Dang man, good luck down there. Glad to hear you're making a move to more positive conditions. I left for much of the same reasons. More pay, lower cost of living, gun laws and milder weather.

I do miss my friends like the guys and gals here, though. I hope to visit home next year.

Congrats on your move down to the desert! After this winter I kinda agree about the cold.

I've been meaning to post one of these as well.

Just sold our house about a week ago (we close February 3rd) and are moving back to Wichita Kansas.

Not super thrilled, but the job situation here is not going to get any better (I'm interviewing for positions with 50+ applicants these days, this place is just too crowded) ... add to that the fact that my 75 year old mother is beginning to show her age (and her 100 year old mother has moved in with her) and it's probably for the best that we're moving back close enough to keep an eye on them.

The one thing I am thrilled about is that we've made enough money on our house that we'll be able to buy a nicer house in Wichita for cash and not have a house payment anymore (downside is it's in Wichita).

I am kinda looking forward to living in a place where marijuana isn't legal but P-Mags are.

No, don't leave. You need to stay and vote these losers out!

[LOL]

This move seems to make a lot of sense for you and yours. I wish you all the best!

On a mildly more serious note, best of luck OP. I didn't care much for it back in 2003 and don't think it has improved much since.

Good luck and I'll pass on a couple of my favorite mexican restaurants though it's been about 10 years since I was down there last. One of my old partners still lives there (though his health is rapidly deteriorating) as well as some family though I usually hang with my brother and his wife in the Phoenix area on those rare times I go to Arizona. Left in '84 because I just couldn't handle the heat in summer (which lasts about 9 months LOL). Seriously though it can be a beautiful place when the cactus bloom and some of the best sunsets I've ever seen were from Gates Pass.

Tucson/Pima County has always been the major liberal part of Arizona but there were a few really good gunshops then, I think one or two of the ones I frequented are still operating.

Yeah that nice weather in Tucson like the snow twice this month but just as likely 80 degrees. Similar to Colorado.
The big difference is in the summer 110-120- but its a dry heat.
When you get a 3rd degree burn off your seat belt clasp because you grabbed it wrong and opening up all the windows and running the ac on high for 10 minutes while you stand in the sun in that 120 degree heat waiting for the car interior to drop below 500 degrees!

No thank you! I lived there and will never live in that oven again.
For a change I moved from Tucson to Northern Ontario Canada..... that was a major change!

I wish you well.- heartfelt

I almost forgot about Eegee's. Good place to go for some temporary relief from the heat.

Thanks for sharing, looks refreshing, I'm sure that would be a big hit with the kids.

Grinder sandwich!!!! As a kid there was an Eegee's on Speedway near Craycroft about 10 minutes from our house. Special treat going there on with my dad on a Saturday.

Thanks for all the well wishes! As for the negative folks, it's already a done deal, and it's what is best for my family, this wasn't a "looking for suggestions/opinions" thread. I've dreamt of living in AZ for many years, and love the desert. I grew up on the plains where I had infinite wide open space to explore and get lost in, I've been yearning for that for quite some time now, and am completely over what the Denver metro area has become. Again, thanks for the well wishes.

Go down to Green Valley and have a look around. It was a nice little town when I lived there. And you can have a blast SW of Green Valley out in the desert. Great hunting.

I did a refresher hand gun class today. I'm the guy in short sleeve t-shirt while everyone else is wearing jackets, hats and gloves. Fucken CA transplants. At least they're fairly serious right of center gun owners
