That show was garbage anyway but it's obvious that no one is allowed to make a joke about anything ever again or risk losing your job.
He was stupid for going there in the first place.

I think anymore it?s a problem with anyone hearing it or finding out you said something that doesn?t fit the PC culture we have. Hard to be a comedian these days.

It's just as much, if not more, of a know your employer situation. You can't get away with stuff like that in a corporate environment on TV or the radio.
Whatever.
Corporate propaganda outlets are all the same bland bullshit from carbon copy clones spouting the same talking points ad naseum.
All the best comedians and news commentary types are on the internet anyway, posting content where it's still mostly ok to be an edgelord.
Though even that's going away, especially for anyone who's the least bit conservative in politics and edgy in their humor.
I'm curious to know the context of when a school shooting is funny. A law school maybe?
I find Bill Burr funny, and he's not PC and still producing content.

Would it have been any different if he said a terrorist attack? School shootings are downplayed here so often I didn't imagine anyone would think this wasn't funny.
Also, there is nothing wrong with comedy right now, it's as good as it has ever been.
Eh. He still keeps his politics within the realm of the culturally acceptable, though his stuff leads me to believe he's holding back.
On an unrelated note, he had a supporting role in last week's episode of The Mandalorian. I've noticed a bunch of comedians showing up in bit parts or supporting roles on that show.

Yeah.
And Nickelback is a great rock band.
What do you think the comedy scene is lacking right now?

^^ From what I've seen? Humor.
Of course, that's always subjective so maybe it's me. I find very few comedians these days, especially the younger ones, funny.
I stumbled across one of Tim Allen's early routines on YT a few weeks ago. He's funny, in my opinion.
We probably wouldn't agree much on what's funny then, because Tim Allen's stuff is pretty forgettable. A lot of comedians in his era just did stand up to get a sitcom and then quit doing stand up after that. It would have been interesting to see how he developed.
I personally find political comedy kind of lame regardless of the bent, but Nick Dipaolo jumps to mind if anyone is looking for "conservative" comedy. He's kind of like if you got GreatKazoo onto a mic.

Comedy is not pretty -- Steve Martin
The only thing I find amusing about this is what kind of story he'll need to distract his wife from all but murdering him on a daily basis for the next two months.
It most definitely isn't a school shooting.
Yeah.

Never understood the hate for Nickelback.....

You gotta look up Eddie Murphy's old routine from the 80's where he's in that red leather outfit. Holy hell would that shit get you in trouble now.

He had to apologize before his new movies come out.
I think it might have been Raw, or Delerious. I need to watch both. Pretty sure you can still say whatever you want.

Not at all. Even blacks can't use the N word as someone's triggered, or it's taken out of context. Hell look at Kevin Hart's joke about his kid turning gay, or how ever he phrased it. Someone somewhere triggered and started the process / petition to get him off the oscars? Or other awards show.
PEOPLE IT'S A FUCKING JOKE.

Thanks.
I've had numerous people over the years suggest i do open mic. But my sense of humor is the kind people show up at your home with bullhorns and signs. Demanding my head on a platter.
My gay , female, bisexual men jokes have all been considered funny by the same people i made jokes about. Even those people have said, Umm no they'd run me out of town, in today's PC climate.

I thought you left Windsor voluntarily. [Coffee]
If you think nothing has changed, do you think they could make Blazing Saddles today?
Yes but it'd be a flop because it isn't that funny. There are plenty of movies just as "offensive" as Blazing Saddles, which is really pretty tame.

I think you're basing your assumption on how you think the comedy scene might be based on what you read in the click bait news, rather than how it's actually like.

Well there we part ways my friend. I laugh my ass off at most Mel Brooks movies including Blazing Saddles. I'm sort of sophomoric that way.
I know that's a tough position to take, and I'm not saying it isn't funny, just that it's not in any way a standard to be judged by. Blazing Saddles, Naked Gun, the Ernest movies, every Will Ferrell movie, etc. Comedy is mostly sophomoric, and that's not an insult, it's just part of the genre.
Comedy, like wine, is entirely in the eye of the beholder, no matter what anyone says.
To add to the above examples, some people find Garfield hilarious. I'm not even sure what genre that technically is, and I'm not sure what to make of it, but I try to be careful around "those people" just in case. [Sarcasm2]
I shouldn't be so hard on Blazing Saddles. Just that saying of "they could never make Blazing Saddles today." has become a pet peeve of mine. It's the saying, not who says it. It's become the cop out answer to any conversation about changing times. It doesn't matter if you could make Blazing Saddles today or not, as it's not an indication of anything being worse than before, only different.
Kind of like when people would always say, "I'd be okay with weed being legal, just tax the hell out of it!"

It does matter whether or not you could make Blazing Saddles today, and those that think it doesn't, have swallowed the whole hog of Government and Society.

How about the atrocity of denying to make a cake for someone?
Should Government/Society step in, and force you to make a cake?
Should Government/Society step in, and deny your right to make a movie?
-John
Where is this so called freedom that liberals entertain?
It sounds like more Government to me.

Government isn't stopping any movies from being made...

They are just strongly suggesting you don't.

It was not comedy. It was not funny. The guy is fucking bag of dicks for even thinking it, let alone saying it.
ANYONE who thinks a school shooting is a good way to change the story is shit wrapped in skin.

No yet. But burn anything other than an American flag and watch out.
See burning the American flag, cause after all it's just a piece of cloth is ok. Burn any other flag you're a racist or worse. Hopefully this guy, who's sentencing (IMO) is not plastered over every media site, due to him being other than a potential "nationalist? gets a better lawyer as well as tossed in appeal.
