Nationwide I see a bunch of 2006 Dodge Caravan cargo vans for sale. Low mileage, pretty inexpensive. Who uses them?
Thanks. I know one of you all knows.

Some insurance companies used them for claims adjusters, but I want to say that they rotate it vehicles before then. The Caravan underwent significant changes to the frame in 2011 and you want one built after that. Supposedly the earlier years (but same body style), were under supported in the front end, so instead of changes brake pads every 50k, you'd get to change rotors, calipers, other suspension parts, and get an alignment. For 2011 they changed a bunch of things to fix all that. Good luck.
Sorry, that is the next generation that started in 2008, I was thinking the fifth generation started in 2000. Keep that in mind if you go newer though.

Those look like USPS vans. Depending what one considers Low Mileage.
They're more like usps, than fedex, or sub contractor units. Seeing how most delivery areas for the P.O. are smaller, compared to the FX type delivery places.
20,000 miles up to about 60,000 miles. $2500 bottom end some scratches and dents. most around $5500, some as high as $6500 clean with 20,000.
I was thinking USPS as well. I want to know how they are used. Do they idle all day like a cop car or ambulance? Do they stop at every house? Are they driven to one neighborhood and then unloaded?
Standard practice for a USPS delivery is to park and go engine off as soon as possible. They make priority/large/heavy deliveries and then park, do a walking figure 8 or 88 down the adjoining blocks.
I've seen USPS using those.
Just throw the kids in the cage and go. [Coffee]

I've seen USPS using those.
That's my guess too...I have seen them used in the past.
If you already have a Dodge Caravan and want the USPS rear cross-view mirror kit: https://www.velvac.com/products/usps-dodge-caravan-mirror-kit-rear-cross-view-mirror-85-diameter-convex

Thanks everyone for your input. Wulf for the info on how they use them. We dont have USPS delivery like the city. Ours is a lady in her pickup if its snowy or muddy. If its nice she delivers in a car.
What wulf said may be how they do it in CO. Out here the ones in use are stop n go along their service area. Our streets run just under 1 mi long per.
You wouldn't know how they were driven unless you knew their delivery route and vehicle history. For the money they might not be a bad deal, maybe.
With them being under 100K you'd not have a hard time dumping one, if it was more of a headache, than not.
What sites are you finding these vans? Asking for a friend whose van died the second he went out of town and will need a new work vehicle the second he gets back to town.
